Wrap me up before I go go…. because it’s freezing outside and this girl was not built for the cold. This past weekend proved that there is no amount of layers on earth that can prevent me from freezing my tush off. I even contemplated pouring hot chocolate all over myself, not to stay warm, but to double check my hands and feet were still working. Anyway, winter is here and winter is cold, and if I have to suffer through Jack Frost then I might as well look cute while doing so. Scarves, hats, and gloves are cold weather necessities. I’ve never been a huge fan of hats, more of an earmuffs type of gal, as I feel they do not look the best on me. But would love to, hopefully, pull off  this hat from Bloomingdales, how cute is the bow? Another accessory I have been eyeing are opera gloves from Mark And Graham.  I mean LOOK at this picture of Olivia Pope and tell me you do not want to copy this entire ensemble? Perfection. Now my favorite cold weather essential item is scarves. I live in scarves all winter long. From cashmere to prints to fur, I always seem to drool over every scarf I come in contact with. What I love most about the cozy item is that it is not only for the outside, but it is also part of your outfit. Scarves are a great accent and since I am always cold, I love to wrap myself up in them. Double win. Anyway, I am a firm believer you can never have too much of a good thing, so I am always in the market for new accessories to keep me looking chic and put together, not red-face wind blown cold.

Tis the season for holiday cheer! This is my favorite time of the year with christmas music playing,  all the beautiful lights and decorations, gift giving, holiday happiness, and food and more food and did I mention food? With all of the wonderful things surrounding the holidays, my favorite part is spending time with family and friends. There are lots of parties and get togethers in store and I always like to have a few dresses on hand for such occasions. A party is not a real party unless I am wearing a peplum.  It’s true I love the stylish top. I find it flattering as it fits tightly around the torso and flares out on the bottom. Not a top for everyone, but for me I feel it works…or at least I think it does..When it comes to peplums the waist line and bottom flare has to hit at the right area and with the right length. If it is too high then I look pregnant, and if it is too low it makes my hips look big. It should hit right around where the waistline is. The length of the flare needs to be long as I find short peplums do not work well for me. This top from Tibi is one of my favorites and works well with my body structure. It takes some serious will power to not wear it to every single party. 
Another party favorite of mine is my leopard heels from J.Crew. From my Instagram pictures you probably have noticed I live in my leopard ballerina flats, that is why I HAD to have these heels. I usually love wearing them with an all black ensemble, making me feel chic and put together.  They are a shade darker than most leopard prints, which I love, so they are not too over dramatic. Some believe leopard is a neutral, which I completely agree with when it comes to shoes and purses. They are the perfect accent to any outfit. 
This outfit is casual enough to wear anywhere, yet still dressed up enough for a party. As the holidays approach there will be plenty of get togethers and events to attend to, and this party look is perfect for such occasions. The peplum really makes the entire look more fashionable and put together. 
By the way, ever have a really great hair day? Well thanks to mother nature this was not one of them…so.much.wind.
