Month: March 2015

Lately I have been feeling a little anxious and panicky, yet motivated. I have all these goals and dreams that I am working towards, yet I have the mentality of wanting it all to be achieved at once. As if I had a genie and he granted me my success right there before my eyes. Wouldn’t that be nice? Well I know good things take time and hard work pays off. Sometimes when you do not see the results right away or when you have set backs, it can be really disheartening in your journey. It can lead to the ugly head of comparison and not feeling good enough. Then I realize all that I have accomplished in just a year and what I know is in store for me in the future. I feel not only grateful, but peaceful in what I am doing. You can do this. I need this as a print, framed, in my room, so it is the first thing I see when I wake up. I think we can all use this reminder.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
When I am starting to feel a little panicky about a certain situation, I repeat these words over and over in my head. So often we disregard a desire or goal because we feel like we are not good enough. We do not try something new because of the fear of failure and what others may think. I know this all too well, I’ve been there more than I would like to admit. I have let good things pass me by out of fear. Now I no longer let the fear of failure or comparison stop me– as long as I am doing what I love. I encourage you to go after your dreams and goals. You can do whatever you want as  long as you love it and believe in yourself. There will be rocky times, there will be self doubt, there will be failure. However, if you are persistent and do not give up and believe in what you are doing, amazing things will begin to happen. You just need to stay positive during the setbacks. You need to have the courage to throw yourself out there and create something. It can be as small as jumping off the high dive or big as starting a business–you CAN do this. The key is to start, just do it. Jump–no canning ball– into your dreams.
Live the life you have always imagined. Set a small goal today and accomplish it by midnight tonight. See how easy it is to just go for it. Then tonight, write out what you want to accomplish and what you want your life to look like. I know this may feel a little silly, but trust me this exercise makes it clear for you on what exactly you want and how to get it. Take that list and move towards it. Take the step into achieving the goal and see how life will rearrange itself to help you accomplish it. And remember YOU CAN DO THIS!

Since full skirts became a trend, I have been searching for the perfect one. I have always been a mini-skirt type of gal, but knew I would relish in the femininity of a full skirt. The problem? I couldn’t find one that was right for my body. I may be little but I have curves. A full skirt adds to my curves causing me to look a little heavier than I am. Well finally I found the perfect one from Express! It is not only pretty, it is affordable. Which is always a plus in my book.  The skirt is not too full, hits right above my knees and comes in a myriad of colors. I instantly fell in love with this wild orchid color, but I am also eyeing the pale gray. I want to wear it everyday if I could!  I even put it on just to lie in bed and read a book pretending I am in a Kate Spade Ad…..
While we are celebrating our last day of winter (finally!!), I am itching to start wearing my spring clothes. Wear a sweater with a bright color and leopard shoes as a look you can wear to start transitioning into spring. As the days get warmer I will switch out the sweater for a white blouse and beige shoes. This skirt is so beautiful, I can’t wait to wear it again!

When it comes to perfume, just like the changing of the season or my mood, I love to wear different fragrances. For years I only wore Ralph Lauren Romance, a fragrance that is not too strong nor does it has a fruity smell. It is a timeless scent that I will wear for the rest of my life. Although it is my signature scent, I do use different fragrances for different occasions.  Chanel No.5 is the most well known, classic perfume. One that every woman should own at some point in their lives. It does have a distinct scent and it is the last of the Chanel fragrance series geared towards older women whose sense of smell has weakened. I love to wear it for long days when I want the scent to last. Tory Burch is the perfect perfume for spring as it smells like flowers. It is soft and feminine and if a perfume could change your mood, this would make you happy. I received the Carolina Herrera’s perfume in a goodie bag and fell immediately in love with it. It has a floral scent, but not too strong or musky. And just like Chanel No.5, it is perfect for classic women.

What are some of your favorite scents?

foods

Two things you may need to know about me:
1) I am obsessed with food and am always thinking of what to eat. For me, it is not just about eating food that gets me excited, it is what foods help your body heal and restore itself.
2) I am obsessed with my skin–especially my face. I suffer from the dreaded AA (adult acne, hormonal imbalance), and am very cautious of what products I put on my face and what foods I am eating.
Spend at least 5 minutes with me, and I guarantee I will start to talk about one or the other–or fashion, can’t forget my obsession with that! I will pick your brain on your beauty regime and what works or does not work for you. I wanted to share with you a few key foods for healthy skin and help fight acne.
