Month: June 2015

If you haven’t noticed by now, I am a little crazy-pants about my skin. You can read about my obsessiveness here. Well the madness continues and this time I am talking about becoming a vampire aka staying away from the sun and being pale all year round. Sounds amazingly attractive……. I use to wake and bake all the time in college. Heading to the tanning bed every other day, laying out for countless hours in the sun and bragging about how I never get a sun burn. I was like a bronzed goddess 8 months out of the year. Those were the days! Now I am all “save my skin from ruins”!! I wear a hat when I lay out to block the sun from my face, I never step outside without sunscreen (on my face, need to work on my body), and I make sure to sit outside for a only short periods of time. Skin care is so important, as skin cancer is the most common cancer in America. Safety first friends!

Lately I have been trying to expand my knowledge of menswear,  becoming more familiarize with different styles, fabrics, lingo, etc. More on this to come in a later post. Since I am learning more about the world of men’s fashion, Father’s Day couldn’t of have come at a better time.

If there ever was a shoe that stood the test of time, it would be espadrilles. No matter the age, no matter the year, they will always be in style. They are casual, comfortable and just scream summer! Pair them with shorts and a tank or wear them with a summer shift dress—they go with anything!
I have always wanted a pair of espadrilles but have yet to find a pair that I just love. To be honest, since I know they will always be around, I have not been too active on my search. Now I am being more pro-active as I think they will be great to wear to work (and comfortable).

For the past few years I keep promising myself (and you) that I will take tennis lessons over the summer. Well here I am, another summer, same promise. I think tennis would be a great way to have fun while exercising and a chance to learn a new skill! Last year I went to the US Open and was completely inspired to become the next Serena Williams. Ok maybe not that far, but it did increase my desire to learn the sport. I took lessons when I was little in the summer, but all I remember is being so.fricking.hot. I am sure I will still complain about the heat, lets be honest… and lets be honest when I say I will probably hit the ball only a couple of times and then strut around with my racquet and cute attire straight to the club bar for mimosas. Anyway, this summer I want to hold myself accountable to taking lessons.
