It was hard to get back to reality today after the long weekend. My weekend was really relaxing. On Friday I went to the new bar/restaurant called The Walrus, located in downtown Columbus. The atmosphere was good and the food was amazing! I had the prosciutto roll–chicken stuffed with mushrooms, pineapple, and queso fresco, wrapped in prosciutto. SO good! I also spent the weekend working out, watching a lot of Netflix, and drinking little too much wine. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Now that we are back from our little mini vaca, I thought I share a few products that I have added into my beauty regime that I am loving.

Yesterday Blush and Blooms got a new design! I am so excited about this new look. I have been wanting to update my blog since the beginning of the year and I am so pleased with the outcome–especially the new header! I can not thank Whitney, from Heart and Arrow, enough for all her hard work and patience. Between my website going MIA for 3 days, and my computer crashing and being worked on for 2 weeks, she was so understanding about everything. I loved working with Whitney and absolutely love my new design! I believe this new design is a cleaner, easier way to navigate through my blog posts. You can also check out my latest Instagram posts at the bottom of the page, shop my newest must haves, and be the first to see the details of my outfit posts through Liketoknow.it

On top of the new design, Blush and Blooms is now mobile friendly. If you are like me, you don’t always have time to catch up on your favorite blogs at night or in the morning (or at work…). I utilize my phone a lot to catch up on my favorite blogs and it makes it so much more efficient when it is easy to maneuver. All you have to do is type http://www.blushandblooms.com into your phones URL search and my website will pop-up. The best part is that this will act as a one-stop source for all of my social media channels. You can take a look at what I am posting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Bloglovin. Although my snapchats are not on there, which is a good thing, you can still follow me @mtate24.

This new update has me pretty excited about the future and I have a lot of goodies in store for everyone. I am currently playing around with the idea of adding video content. I have a few Vlogging friends and have been picking their brains for advice, and I have been learning to edit videos. It is still a new idea and won’t be carried through and executed for a while. Also have been playing around with the idea of sending out newsletters of extra content and how-to’s that may not make it on the blog. Still all so new and the logistics need to be narrowed down.

I would like to take this time to ask all of you what you like, don’t like, want to see more of, what type of content you would like me to start adding in my blog posts? Any advice would really be helpful! You can email me blushandblooms@gmail.com. I would really appreciate any ideas you may have! I want this to be a place that you all look forward to reading, feel connected to, and excited about!

I can’t thank all of you enough for the support since the beginning and I love, LOVE connecting with everyone! This blog has been more than I even imaged it to be when I first started and I really feel like I have a “pinch me” mentally everyday. I am blessed that I am doing what I love and it is all because of you guys! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!! Wish I could hug you all xo.

“I write to taste life twice”

-Anais Nin

Writing has always been a big part of my life. I have kept a journal since I was little. I write about my thoughts, ideas, what I am upset about and what I am grateful for. Writing is a way for me to express my inner thoughts that I may not be able to fully articulate to someone else. It has been therapeutic for me to get out all of my anger when I am frustrated or upset. When I went through the worst times of my life, writing about what I was thankful for really helped me see the positive, the good things that were happening to me.  For a whole year I wrote in a gratitude journal everyday, and it was not the easiest thing to do either. Some days you just want to write about all the terrible events that are happening or you want to vent about someone, but I forced myself to write about what did make me smile—even if it was as simple as I listened to my favorite song or I thought the flowers in the park were beautiful. Whatever it was I could mustard to make me see beauty in an ugly situation, I wrote about. Then there are the times I wrote about what I was truly happy about. You know those times when you can’t stop talking about an event or someone you like and you have out weighed the number of people you can talk their ear off about it? A journal was another way to talk about it. Writing down the good things in my life is a great way to relive the happy moments.
