The Swan House
shift dress // heels // clutch // sunglasses
When I was visiting Atlanta a few weeks ago one of the things I wanted to see the most was the Swan House. I first came upon this beautiful house while stalking scrolling through Instagram. It is an historic center in Buckhead, GA. Buckhead, by the way, is jaw-dropingly gorgeous with huge houses and lots of trees. I almost tucked and rolled out of the car hoping someone would either adopt me or marry me. Anyway, the Swan House has been around since the 1920’s and was owned by the Inman family, heirs to cotton fortune. Now you can tour the house and get a glimpse into their southern lifestyle of the 20’s and 30’s. Each room is designed to represent different lifestyles and activities— parties, tea time, children rooms, servants living quarters, the kitchen. It was all so beautiful and interesting. They even had what the family would have worn during these times.
It’s a Girl!
On Friday I mentioned in my post (here) that we were throwing a gender reveal party for my sister and brother-in-law. Well…… IT’S A GIRL!!!!! Going into the party I was convinced they were having a boy because my sister and I always joked that she was destined to have all boys. Well we are proven wrong. I am SO SO SO SO exited she is having a girl; ballet classes, little bows, cute clothes, headbands, boy bands, fashion, pink…. I could go on. They have picked out a name– a family name– but as of now I am not allowed to tell (cue me rolling my eyes).
Mary Jane Shoes
Mary Janes are back and better than ever. With a fresh take on the beloved shoe, this classic style is one of the top trends of the season. They were made popular in the 30’s and 40’s, was reintroduced in the 90’s (helllooo, Cher Horowitz), now they are back with a more versatile look. What I love about Mary Jane shoes is the slight placement of the buckle, making the simple detail stand out.
