My birthday is tomorrow! To be honest my birthday this year has been a little weird. Normally I am on top of things like creating a birthday list, planning my outfits to wear during celebrations, planning a celebration. I love to make a whole week of celebrating with a special dinner, drinks with friends, pampering myself, buying myself a gift. This year, however, I keep forgetting about my birthday. I also had a hard time coming up with things that I wanted. I guess this is when you know you are an adult, when you don’t really need gifts because everything you want you can just buy yourself. Also my parents would much rather throw me off of a bridge than buy me the Givenchy antigona satchel bag that I want. Anyway, the things I do truly would like to have and experience are to travel, move to a new apartment, get a dog, etc; that I do not think the birthday gods will grant as a gift.

3 Books On My Radar
Lately I have been tearing through the pages of books. All I want to do is cancel my schedule for the rest of the week and read, get lost in a good story. This past year I have neglected pleasure reading. Normally I go from book to book, but this year it has taken me longer to finish one. I only have myself to blame, well that and Netflix. I decided to make a promise to myself that my free time (and especially on Sundays) are for reading and not re-watching TV shows I have seen a thousand times. If I had to choose one genre of books it will probably be love stories. I am a sucker for hopeless romantic, drama-filled, rom-coms and happy endings type of books. I also love self-help books as well. It’s good to push yourself to be a better person, learn something new whether it’s for your career, health, or just life in general. It never hurts to keep evolving and growing. Here are a few books I have on my reading list, one which I am currently devouring.
Friday’s Simply Smitten
“your biggest commitment must always be to yourself”
-Bridget Devoue
Happy Friday!! The lazy days of summer are over and I am back to being busy. I do not mind being busy but I do need help. There are a few (amazing) changes that are happening in my life that I need an extra hand, especially during the busiest season and while I figure out my groove. If you haven’t seen my post from any of my social media accounts– I am looking for an Intern to hire for the duration of beginning of September to mid-December. See details here. Anyway, this past week was more about spending hours on my computer than attending events. I actually enjoy these types of days when I can get as much work done as possible. I feel more accomplished and relaxed. Most of those days were spent sending out NYFW request (I am, thankfully, finished!), writing and creating blog post, searching for fashion week outfits to wear, and more. All in all it was a good week and I was in a great mood.
Top Fall Fashion Trends 2018
As we gear towards the fall we are starting to see more and more of this seasons trends in stores and on the streets. We are currently at a time when truly anything goes, wear what makes you feel like you. Even though there are certain trends that dominate the scenes, nothing feels out of style. When I started to search for what is on trend this coming season I found many different answer… almost too many; leather is coming in all different garments, we will be seeing silver and sequins a little earlier than the norms of the holiday season, fringe will be on every single item you own, oversize is the new look, and it’s the return of ruching. Although there are many trends to sport this coming fall, there are a few that I personally find to be the best and easiest to wear without looking too trendy.
