“darling you’ve got magic in your bones, and gold in your soul.

don’t let anyone treat you like you’re ordinary”

-Billy Chapata

Happy Friday! Fashion week is officially over! I am feeling run-down, but very happy with the week. I saw some amazing shows like Jonathan Simkhai, Noon by Noor, Nicole Miller— to name a few. I’ll go more into detail in a blog post later about my week, but I loved every minute of it! I even broke my word on not going to any events… which I knew would happened. I ended up “sneaking” into the Lulu’s event after being convinced to go by a few friends. I ended up have a blast! The next night I cleared my schedule for Emily’s “surprise” (she knew about it) b-day party! We went to dinner at Blue China, then went karaoking for the rest of the night. I had SO much fun singing ABBA  songs and my karaoke go-to “Gangsta’s Paradise” by Coolio.

Living here in New York there are plenty of times when you go straight from work to evening out for an event or drinks with friends. No matter what aesthetic your style is (preppy, grunge, streetwear, feminine), a blazer is always a must have in everyones closet. (more…)

Summer does not officially end for a few more weeks. I always find this time of year to be difficult to dress. It’s too hot to wear fall clothing, but it is September. That is why I am gravitating towards dress that suffice the warmth but still work for the fall season. This dress from Derek Lam is a great transitional piece.
