One of the most asked questions I get about blogging is what exactly it is that I do during the day. It is a hard question to answer because everyday is not the same. That is what I love about this career, it’s not routine. I have never been one for the 9-5. Having a job that lets me set my own hours is more my pace. I mean my sun sign is a Virgo and my moon sign is Sagittarius. Virgos are known to be motivated, perfectionist, while Sagittarius hate routine, restriction, and norm, making me the perfect combination for this field. Since my day to day schedule is always changing, depending on meetings and events, I thought I would share my schedule for today; an insight into what it’s like blogging.

It’s no secret magazine are slowly becoming something of the past, but I, for one, still enjoy leisurely flipping through the pages. Once upon a time fashion magazines were the only source we had to find out what is on trend for the upcoming season. Now we have all of the information right at our finger tips.

Growing up I adored wearing headbands. As a little girl with short hair, headbands helped keep my hair out of my eyes; plus I thought they were so cute. I wore bows, ribbons, sparkly ones, thick ones and thin ones. My two favorites were this skinny tortoise and my Burberry one my parents gave me for Christmas. I continued my love for headbands throughout college. I can’t think of a day where I wasn’t wearing one, especially during dance class. Then after college I was watching Gossip Girl, the episode where Humphrey takes Blair to the NYU rooftop party. Right before they enter he takes her headband and tosses it, saying “no headbands in college”. God only knows why I took it to heart, but I did. Eventually I stopped wearing headbands as often or not at all. Maybe I wanted to seem more grown up….. and now I want to seem younger? Contributing to the downfall of my favorite headpiece, they weren’t really in style then. Now I feel headbands are making a strong comeback in current trends. You saw them down the runway’s of Prada and Miu Miu Fashion Week shows this season. Even bloggers are popping up on my feed with the timeless headpiece. I think a lot of this has to do with the growing popularity of the thick headband created by Lele Sadoughi, that I am dying to get my hands on (I want the white one in pearls). It’s a bold statement that I am loving. I also like this black one from Jennifer Behr. I think it’s time I channel my inner Blair Waldorf and bring headbands back into my life!
