Month: January 2019

As a continual fitness resolution from last year I am still trying new workouts and fitness studios here in New York City. With only a month into the new year I have already gone to two new workouts and loved both. The two new classes that I took have been on my list of workouts to try for a while. I either couldn’t find the time to attend them or didn’t want to give up one of my beloved classes. I have many different fitness studios and workouts that I love to go to that it’s hard to pick which exercise to do throughout the week. At this rate if I want to attend all of the workouts that I love, I may end up exercising all day, every day. Anyway, I really loved the new workouts and can’t wait to go back!

valentine's day

As stores are starting to put out their candy hearts and long stem roses with the approach of Valentine’s Day, I have been thinking about all of the pick up lines I have endured over the years. Some made me laugh; like the time I was in Florida on vacation with my parents during high school and some guy walked up to me saying I dropped my name tag– which was a sugar packet. I laughed, my dad said what an idiot. Some pick up lines have made me feel uncomfortable; recently a guy was trying to hit on me by saying I looked wild– that I look as if I stand up on bars yelling shots and that I like to have a really good time. Yeeaaah, you are definitely barking up the wrong tree. I rolled my eyes and walked away. Or my favorite pick up line ever said to me; a drunk guy stumbled up to me at a bar with no prior engagement between us and said “why are all the really beautiful girls bitches?” Followed by “you must be a bitch because you are so beautiful.” I still laugh when I think about it….. I guess I have to give him points for making me laugh. Of course the pick up lines that do work are the friendly ones; “Hey, my name is….”. Simple and normal my friends… simple and normal.

Happy Friday!! Or should I say happy 3-day weekend…although I forgot it was a long weekend until yesterday, but then again I thought yesterday was Friday…so here we are. Anyway, it’s going to be one snowy weekend here in NYC. I am excited for it. Bring on the rosy cheeks and frostbite hands I am ready to play in the snow!

kate spade suit

blazer // pants // nude heels // satchel // sunglasses // headband

The power suit is still a big sought after trend you will see hitting the streets and on the runways. As we have discussed before, wearing a suit is no longer just for Wall Street. I, for one, love wearing suits even though my office is the kitchen island in my apartment. Suits are no longer boring and basic. They are fun, expressive, feminine, and powerful. And when a suit comes in pink– well then, it must be mine.
