One of the things that you might not know about me is that I enjoy learning metaphors and symbolisms, especially in colors. Why we are drawn to certain colors more than others? For instance; red is associated with intimacy, passion and rage because it takes our eyes longer to process the color than any other color. And in order to process the color our bodies use more hormones– the same amountt of hormones used during sex or rage. On the other hand blue is a color that is easy on the eyes, (most) everyone likes, and everyone looks good in.

Happy Friday, it’s New York Fashion Week!! This week is all about fall/winter RTW ’19. So far I have only seen 3 shows: L’Agence, Tadashi, and Pamella Roland. Today I have the Nonie show, an event with Women’s Wear Daily x Klarna event with New Yorkster/ Bumble, event with DL1961/Drybar. This NYFW has been a little weird. It seems that way for a lot of my friends; getting last minute invites, not hearing back from brands/PR agencies they have a close relationship with, brands not having shows at all, etc.  It’s been a bizarre start to fashion week for sure, but I have to thank my lucky stars that I am invited to something. I have to remind myself there was once a time I sat on my bed watching shows via streaming on Twitter and/or Facebook and dreaming of being in attendance.

Today is the start of New York Fashion Week, which means I will be spending the following week dressed up, running around the city. It also means I will be wearing make-up all day, everyday. It’s no secret that I have struggled with acne since I turned 21 (happy birthday! you can legally drink now but oooh wait here comes teenage acne that you never had). By the end of my 20’s my skin started to clear up, due to me cutting out gluten. Although my struggles with acne are now few and far in-between (I break out sometimes during my cycle), I still make a conscious decision on what products I put on my face. Since I am spending so much time in make-up taking photos, going to events and meetings, hanging out with friends, I want to make sure the products I use are clean and healthy. Especially during the winter time when the weather can be harsh on our skin.
