When it comes to an every look in the spring and summer I love to throw on a casual dress. A dress that can be worn not only to run around town in but also go out to brunch or dinner with friends. Something that will take you from day to night, because summer is all about the unexpected plans.

This white midi dress from Mara Hoffman is one that I can throw on and know that I still look put together. It’s perfect for a warm spring day or a cool summer night. It’s perfect for city living, then turn around and take it on your  tropical vacation. What I love about this dress is how comfortable and non-restrictive it is. At first glance it seems baggy and overwhelming with material, but truly it does not feel that way when you wear it. With the white coloring and simplistic style, this is on you will wear for years.

Since Sézane opened their L’ Appartement a few years ago I have become obsessed with the French brand. With a little part of Paris in New York, Sézane has brought collection after collection of chic, casual, and elevated French style to the concrete jungle. As you browse through the store you will find classically cut silhouettes and feminine fabrics, giving the perfectly effortless French style. Going to the L’Appartement is, in itself, an experience with a tiny cafe, home decor, and a photo booth.

mothers day

Mother’s Day is slowing approaching and it’s time to start thinking of what to get the woman in our lives that have always loved and nurtured us. The older we get the more we appreciate what all our parents, especially our mothers, did and currently do for us. The self sacrifice, the unbreakable love, the teachable moments, she made it look easy. We now know as some of you are parents or aunts/uncles, it’s no easy feat. I have learned a lot from my mother not only as I was growing up, but even more now as an adult. When our parents had us they were young– 20s/30s- still trying to figure it out like we are now. When I truly think about it, color me impressed. How did they do it? How does anyone do it really? I hope that someday God will bless me with children of my own, and hope to be the type of mother that mine is to me. Until that day happens I will continue to be in awe of my mother, grandmother, and sister for being the amazing role models they are.  (more…)
