The pandemic really put a damper on our dating lives. Whether you are in a relationship or single and ready to mingle, our romantic lives have been put on hold. I mean, nothing says romance like being scared to contract a virus. Now that New York is slowly opening up and we are doing pretty well in terms of controlling COVID (knock on wood), I think it’s safe to say that we can step back into our dating lives.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I wasn’t too keen on doing at-home workouts. I enjoy going to the studio; seeing familiar faces, being challenged by an instructor or fellow participant to work harder, having fun while sweating. Sure it was nice to have a little break from over-exhausting my body, and my body really needed this break. I was experiencing shoulder, neck, and back issues at the beginning of the year. Now I do not have as much of an issue and if I have any inflammation in my muscles or joints, I do workouts that are low impact like yoga or fast-pace walking for a few miles.

The other day when I was getting dressed to go run errands, I was browsing through my summer wardrobe. There are so many cute dresses that I have yet to wear this summer; just hanging there waiting to be worn. I started going through the inventory of outfits that have been on rotation over the past month or so and realized how tired I am of wearing them everywhere. That is when I decided that I am no longer going to let the pandemic influence my fashion choices. If I want to wear a cute floral dress or high heels I am going to.

“Hope is not wishful thinking.
Hope is the audacity to believe after all I have been through there is more ahead of me.”
-Morgan Harper Nichols
Happy Friday!! Even though the days seem to run together, I still look forward to the weekend. A chance to step away from work, emails, and social media to enjoy the fresh air or a good movie. Sure the weekends are not as fun as they used to be pre-pandemic, but I am finding joy in the little moments that make me happy.
