A recurring trend over the past few seasons is the large collar blouse. Also known as a prairie collar. You can find the large collar trend not only on blouses but on sweaters and dresses. I absolutely love this trend as it adds an element of detail to any outfit. I purchase this button up shirt last fall and have been styling it many different ways- see here. I wanted one that was sleeveless so I could layer it with a sweater. Now that the weather is nicer, I am looking to purchase more large collar blouses that can stand alone paired with jeans, shorts, or a skirt. Happy Friday! I have to admit, daylight savings really threw me for a loop this time around. It’s not that I am tired throughout the day, more so had the hardest time getting up in the morning. There were 3 days in a row where I have no recollection of accidentally turning off my alarm. I usually remember hitting snooze then waking up after the alarm goes off again. This time I somehow managed to turn it off and not wake up for another hour or so. Of course staying up to watch the Grammys and The Bachelor final did not help with the changing of my sleep schedule.  (more…)

Easter decor

Hoppy almost Easter! I always found Easter to be the real start of spring. It is after all the first time we pull out our brightest clothes to celebrate the occasion. The other day while I was searching for Easter items to share here on the blog I realized that I, myself, do not own any Easter decorations. I was surprised to come to this realization as Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Well, I decided this is the year I start collecting Easter decor….. how old is too old to have an Easter basket? Last week we got a taste of spring with 60 degree weather. It felt like heaven. Now we are back to cold temps and a snowstorm looming on the horizon. I am ready to shed off my puffy coat and ear muffs for spring-like attire. One of my favorite spring styles to wear is a floral skirt with a lightweight sweater. It’s the perfect transitional outfit. The sweater keeps you staying cozy and warm while the skirt reminds you that the sun it out and the weather is nice. (more…)
