sun hat

sun hat // dress- similar here and here

The sun it out, the weather is nice, and summer is just around the corner. This weekend the temperature is suppose to be in the 90s which means I will be sunbathing in the park. At least for a little while. I try not to stay in the sun for too long  and if I have to be I shield my face with a sun hat. Not only are sun hats chic but they protect you. That’s a win-win in my book. I currently own 3 wide brim straw hats – 2 for everyday wear and the other for dressier occasions like polo matches. And of course I have the classic panama hat that will never go out of style. Although I currently have a few options to choose from to sport with my summer dresses or swimwear, it would be nice to add a few more to my closet. I would love to have one where the ribbon hangs low and you can tie it, or perhaps one with a giant bow. Here are my top must have sun hats for the summer. (more…)

Dresses you can pair with sneakers or heels. Last summer I started to fall in love with, or perhaps strengthen my love for midi dresses. I think it’s the most flattering dress length that fits everyone at any age and any size. There are so many cute midi dresses right now to shop, here are a few favorites.  (more…)

Happy Friday! Just in time for the weekend the CDC announced that those of us who have been vaccinated no longer need to wear a mask!! I am so thrilled about this as many of you are as well. I know there is a lot of hesitation and fear surrounding the no mask policy, and no we do not know what the future holds, but I think it’s time for us to move forward. Also, continue to do what makes you feel safe. For a while I am going to continue to wear a mask indoors (especially establishments that require them), but outside it is coming off. Wearing a mask during 90 degree summer days is truly miserable. I am over joyed about the new guidelines; I am ready to mingle and be around people again! (more…)

About a month ago I went uptown to Central Park to see the cherry blossom trees. They were in full bloom and as lovely as ever. I walked along the reservoir, taking in the beauty that surrounded me. NYC may be a concrete jungle, but it does have its charm. Areas of nature that make you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I seek solitude in these ambiances. There really isn’t a said place in New York where one can totally be alone and in silence. Moments like these help bring calm and peace of mind. A reminder that there is beauty among chaos. (more…)
