Happy Friday and happy Halloween! Are you dressing up for Halloween this year? I will not dressing up…..unless I get invited last minute to a party. For me personally, I think it’s fun to dress up in a costume, especially for a party, but I don’t particularly feel the need to. It’s not really my thing but I will do it and have fun. And when I do dress up it’s mostly generic costumes like a witch where I already have a black dress or a girl scout and I can wear my old vest. I think I have only purchased a costume twice in my adult life. Actually I enjoy making my own costume. One year I went as a Tiffany’s box and had more fun crafting the costume than wearing it — wearing a box in a bar is not easy. Anyway, I may not be dressing up for Halloween but I sure do enjoy seeing all of my friend’s kids, and my nieces, dressed up! Kids dressed up as Ted Lasso is perhaps my favorite costume I have seen. It’s funny and so cute!! (more…)

Contrary to popular belief, I do wear black; I am a New Yorker after all. In fact I wear black quite a lot during the fall and winter season. From black jeans to black blouses to black dresses, the majority of my seasonal fall and winter wardrobe is predominantly black. It’s the one color that you can wear to any and all occasions. It’s one that you can reach for quickly and know that you look chic and put together. And when it comes to little black dresses, it’s the most staple piece in any woman’s closet. All thanks to Coco Chanel who made the simple black dress the timeless piece we all have.  (more…)

Have you already dusted off your fall boots? I haven’t thrown on a pair quite yet, but I have brought them out of hibernation. They are ready for me to throw and enjoy any and all fall activities. From over-the-knee boots to ankle boots, there is one thing I know for sure:  you can never have too many. But today we are talking about the classic ankle boot. Whether heeled or flat, ankle boots go with any fall outfit you may wear. I love wearing them with dresses, skirts, and jeans. It gives your wardrobe a more autumn style. My favorite ankle boots to wear throughout the fall and winter season are these white pointy toe booties. They are the pair that I reach for again and again. Although I love them so, I am always on the prowl to buy more stylish ankle boots. Here are a few of my top must-have ankle boots for the fall season. (more…)

Happy Friday! Are you still feeling the effects of Mercury in retrograde? To be honest I do not fully understand what it means, and have never felt anything when people talk about it. However, this time around I felt it and am still feeling the aftermath days after it ended. After googling, I found it’s called the “shadow period”; it can linger for weeks prior and after Mercury retrograde. Sounds fun. Obviously nothing earth shattering has happened, just your typical Mercury retrograde affecting my technology and a few miscommunications with work. Hopefully the lingering shadow period will end soon for me. (more…)
