Many trends have emerged during quarantine; tie-dye, matching sweats, the belted pillow dress, elevated loungewear, and caftans. When I think of caftans I think of two things, the beach and Patricia Altschul. When I started to deep dive into my online search for caftans or kaftans, depending on how you want to spell it, I realized why they were gaining popularity during quarantine. Caftans are easy to throw on, comfortable to wear, and a great alternative for your everyday loungewear.

I have been living in the suburbs for too long because I am now interested in gardening. A few weeks ago I went to the local garden center here in Columbus with my mom to pick up flowers for my parent’s garden. Although my dad did most of the heavy lifting and mulching, my job was to pull out the weeds, sprinkle the flower seeds, help smooth out the mulch, and water. Now I wait patiently for the flowers to bloom.
Casual Dresses
My favorite part of the spring and summer season is wearing dresses. Whether I am going out at night or running errands during the day, I will throw on a cute dress. Right now our spring season is about social distancing, our summer will hopefully filled with gatherings. But whether we are quarantine or soaking in the sun on a rooftop bar, I will be wearing a dress. Casual dresses are my go-to wardrobe in the sunshine seasons. Even if I am only staying inside, wearing a dress makes me happy- and right now we need all of the happiness we can get.
Skirt For the Summer

I am living in the mindset that things will be back to normal by summer. This means I am looking at cute summer clothes to wear instead of loungewear. A great way to get the most out of your summer wardrobe is by wearing skirts. You can mix and match a variety of different looks. Even now, when dressing up seems to be a stretch, we can easily throw on a cute sweatshirt or sweater over a floral skirt. It’s an essential wardrobe item that can be dressed up or down. So no matter what our current situation is, quarantine or back to reality, a skirt is a summer must-have.
