loungewear

One of the few wonderful things about the winter is the excuse to stay indoors and lounge. There is nothing I love more right now than a lazy Sunday afternoon lounging in my robe on my couch while reading a book with a cup of tea in hand. The winter is the time to decompress, take time for ourselves, relax, and enjoy the calm before things heat up for the summer. Lounging around the house doesn’t have to make you completely feel, well, blah. Loungewear can be cute so you still feel great, even though you most likely haven’t washed your hair. As someone who works remotely from home, my daily outfits usually consist of loungewear or activewear. The other day I was shopping at Club Monaco and came across this cute matching set that I can not stop thinking about! It’s loungewear that I would not only put on at home but am not embarrassed to leave my apartment with it on. I also recently bought this chic feather trim pajamas because, well, why not! I have seen plenty of women wear this PJ set out and about during fashion week and events. I’ll take any excuse to wear my PJ’s anywhere! With these cute loungewear items, being a bum and watching hours of Netflix has never looked so chic.

Slowly we are transitioning into spring…..ok, I know it is still a little early but one can only hope. Yesterday I was at Whole Foods and their floral section was filled with spring blooms. It gave me hope that spring is near and my seasonal depression will be gone! Anyway, transitioning into spring, I find, can be a little tricky. You want to pull out your bright colored dresses and put away your puffy coat, but unfortunately Mother Nature does not allow you do to so for quite a while. A great way to utilize the transition is with maxi or midi sweater dresses. You will still be cozy and warm while dressing for the season with lighter colors or accessorizing with spring-like earrings. Here are my top 10 midi and maxi sweater dresses to help you transition out of the cold and into the season where flowers bloom.

A print that I will forever gravitate towards is florals. Even when it comes to my decor, florals are the main theme throughout my all-around aesthetic. One of the top trends, a fashion takeover of this season, is dark florals. From dresses to skirts to jumpsuits, from designer brands to fast-fashion, this quintessential summer print is now moody and dark. It’s a variety of bold blooms on a dark background that makes your winter wardrobe feel feminine.

Last week I posted a Valentine’s Day outfit guide. What to wear for any type of Valentine’s Day date or celebration. Today lets talk about a more casual V-Day look. Valentine’s Day does not have to be this huge romantic, cocktail attire affair. It can easily be grabbing a slice of pizza and going for a walk around the city. It really does not matter what you do, it’s who you are celebrating the day with that matters. But even if you do not have a special significant other, you can still wear your favorite pink top on the day of love.
