snakeskin

A trend that has been slithering into our closet each fall season is the snakeskin print. Although it has been around for decades, I feel it’s become more of a staple piece rather than a trend. It’s the new leopard print as a classic, neutral look that pops. But just like the leopard print, snakeskin can range from classy to tacky as it depends on the style, fabric, color and the print itself. It’s a judgement call to make really. I have always preferred leopard over snakeskin but last year something in me sparked an interested in the wild print and have been coveting pieces ever since. This fall season I have been looking at different skirts, dresses, and boots to purchase. I finally bought these boots (haven’t arrived yet so not sure if they will work for me yet); as for a skirt I have yet to find the perfect piece for me. For a dress I am dying to get this one from Rotate . With its statement sleeve and fit and flare silhouette, I know I would live in it. If going all head to toe snakeskin is a little too much for you, try styling an outfit with a simple snakeskin purse or belt. Personally I would love to be able to pull off this snakeskin trench coat; it’s an item I believe Jackie Kennedy would wear paired with a chic all black ensemble, her famous oversized sunglasses, and Gucci mules. At least that is how I pictured myself styling the coat. However you style this exotic print, add a few snakeskin items to your wardrobe.

tweed jacket c/o // nude heels // silk tank (similar) // headband // sunglasses //  jeans (similar) // circle bag

An item that will stand the test of time is the classic tweed jacket. No longer are they only for the professionals or for your mom. They can be cool, young, and chic. Tweed jackets are versatile and can cater to your aesthetics and style. In the fall I always opt for a tweed jacket to throw on over a tank and a pair of jeans, or even my faux leather leggings. It is a casual yet elevated look. Over the years I have collected a growing number of tweed jackets and I don’t think I will ever stop coveting new ones.  From the Coco Chanel pieces of the 1920’s to today’s modern take, tweed jackets are a classic piece that will always be in trend.

dress c/o (on sale!) // circle bag // sunglasses

Over the weekend I had a nasty cold that caused me to spend my days laying on the couch watching movies. I can’t complain, it was quite nice really. Well besides the being sick part. I did, however, throughly enjoy the art of doing nothing.  Turned lemons into lemonade. I spent my days watching 90’s Rom-Com. What movies did I watch? Well I thought you’d never ask. I watched: You’ve Got Mail, Serendipity, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and High Society (not a 90’s Rom-Com but still a goodie). I guess you can say I have a soft spot for a Meg Ryan / Tom Hanks whirlwind love story. Anyway, as I watched these movies, along with the book I just finished One Day In December, I realized they all have a common theme: fate. And it got me thinking about my life’s own serendipitous moments; were they destined to happen or is it simple a coincidence. Does God really have a plan that we are following or are we making and creating our own destiny.

camera bag c/o

Being a blogger I always need to be ready to capture content; whether I am walking around the city, sitting front row at NYFW, attending events, or having brunch with friends. I carry my camera around with me ready for my shutter to capture the moment. Unfortunately camera bags do not always go with my cute outfits and most of the time they are too bulky to put into my purse. And we must protect the lens at all times. This is why I carry around this Kate Spade Camera Bag with me so I can look cute while being functional. I easily slip my travel camera into the bag and throw it over my shoulders. If you are traveling or someone who loves to capture the moment, a cute camera bag is right for you!
