As the season starts to change to colder temperatures this is usually the time of year where I switch from looking like a bright highlighter to dark and gloomy winter attire. However, this year I have been pushing back my black on black go-to’s for lighter colors. This fall season I have been wearing more whites and creams than ever before. I know, white after Labor Day, blah blah blah. I’ve never much cared for that rule anyhow. Although I am not running around in white sundresses, I am wearing cream-colored sweaters and white and tan checkered pants. Both are perfectly acceptable to wear this crisp season. Why wait until winter, let’s start wearing fall whites!

Is there anything more classic than a striped shirtdress? It’s an item that you can wear for years to come and still be in style. What makes this article of clothing so timeless? It flatters everyone. It’s no fuss, clean-cut, chic, and feminine. In a world where fashion is all about change, when an item is sought after year after year it becomes a staple, classic piece. A few weeks ago I stopped by the Court and Rowe pop-up in Soho. It was the first time for me to see the brand up close and personal; to try on the clothing and to feel the fabrics. Court and Rowe is a preppy, feminine, classic clothing brand that reminds me of what J.Crew used to be way back in the day. It’s clothing that you can take from work to casual wear. As someone who lives in blazers during the fall season, I knew I had to own one of Court and Rowe’s chic blazers.

Gal meets glam

Last night I went to the launch party at the Palace Hotel for the new Gal Meets Glam coat collection. Gal Meets Glam, owned by Julia Engel, is a feminine clothing brand based out of Charleston. I have been loving their clothing for the past year or so, ever since their launch. I am excited about the new coat collection that launched yesterday! Seeing all of the beautiful blush and periwinkle tone coats last night made me want to buy everything! I am loving this wrapped coat and this scalloped houndstooth jacket. GMG also had a preview of their holiday collection– some that have already launched like this beautiful red dress with black velvet bows and this sequined dress. It’s never too early to start shopping for the holidays! In the meantime, I will be trying to decide between which cute coat I want.
