During the holiday season everything is shiny and bright. This includes our outfits! This is the time of the year that I love to wear metallics, sequins, sparkles… really anything shiny. The key to finding the perfect outfit for a holiday or New Year’s Eve party is to buy something you can wear again. This floral metallic dress  is perfect to wear not only to a holiday soirée, but to weddings, birthday parties, and events. It’s festive yet subtle enough to wear year round.

There are a few rules in fashion I no longer follow; white after Labor Day, wearing earrings that match your bracelet, shoes should match your purse or shoes shouldn’t match your purse depending on whats trendy, etc. But there are a few rules, one in particular, that I never break. This particular rule is to always wear an evening clutch with your gown. Whether you are attending a wedding, gala, black tie event, a ball or cocktail party, you should always wear a clutch. An evening bag with a very small strap that delicately hangs on your wrist is doable if you prefer to not hold onto your purse. I cringe with I see women carrying around big purses or wearing a shoulder bag at weddings. You are wearing a beautiful, elegant dress, don’t cover it up with a bag. A clutch keeps the refined aesthetics of your attire. Since we are in the season of fancy dresses, I thought I would share my must have evening clutches with you. I, myself, am in need of a new one.

Can you believe 2018 is almost over? This year seemed to have flown by, yet also felt like a few lifetimes rolled into 12 months. Looking back at what has happened this year, some occurrences only a few months past, feels like years ago. 2018 was a pretty good year for me. I accomplished a lot of my goals, experiences some amazing things, made a lot of new friends, and felt like I have personally grown a lot. There are still some things I wish I did like travel, but for the things I did do I am grateful for. I am ending the year feeling happy, loved, and blessed.

Winter Whites

turtleneck c/o // over the knee high boots // skirt // plaid coat // handbag c/o

Winter is here and it’s chilly outside! Brrr! Trying to push against the wind is a workout in itself. During the winter I tend to wear a lot of black and the only pop of color I have is my red wind-blown face. While black is certainly a timeless look, winter whites have made its way into being a refreshing, chic way to dress. I know there is the age old saying of no white after Labor Day, but I believe   you can throw that rule out the window. Wearing white is a must for your winter wardrobe.

The easiest way to wear white is through a cozy sweater. If you haven’t noticed by now, I have been wearing this turtleneck sweater with almost every outfit. It’s a simple garment to style; can be worn with jeans, trousers, or a skirt.  If you feel wearing all white makes you look like the Adominal Snowman, add some pop of color. Here I styled my winter whites with grey over-the-knee boots and a grey plaid over-sized coat. The color retains the softness of the aesthetics. Whether you go all monochromatic or add just a splash, wearing white will make you feel and look ready for a winter wonderland.
