4th of july

Can you believe the 4th of July is in a few weeks?! As it is one of my favorite holidays I am so excited for the festivities. My original plan for the 4th was to go to the Hamptons then fly home to Columbus on the 6th for the Taylor Swift concert.  Unfortunately my plans fell through for the Hamptons so now I am going to Columbus for a week. I was pretty bummed at first that the 4th in the Hamptons did not work out, but the more I think about it the happier I am that it did not. The Hamptons would of have been a crazy week (fun but crazy) and right now I need a vacation from all of that. I have been feeling a little rundown lately and a relaxing vacation at home is exactly what I need. Plus NO ONE does the 4th better than Upper Arlington Ohio. NO ONE. It is also my hometowns 100th anniversary and I want to be there to celebrate it. From watching the parade in the morning, hopping from picnic to picnic, and watching the fireworks at the park, I know the 4th is going to be amazing as always!

I am not sure what I am going to wear for the red, white, and BOOM holiday. Usually I opt for a dress in the traditional American colors. Normally I will wear one outfit to the parade then change for the rest of the day. In the morning I will wear shorts and a tank, then in the afternoon/evening a dress. Whatever I decide to wear I know it will be cute and patriotic!

What are you wearing for the 4th?

Summer is about bright, bold colors and wearing vibrant prints. A time when you can be playful with your wardrobe, donning pieces that stand out amongst the crowd. My style is dependent on my mood. Sometimes I like to wear energetic pieces, sometimes I prefer a more classic, minimalist look. That is the beauty of fashion, you dress yourself according to your current mood.

Yellow, as we all know, is a cheerful color. A color that looks great against sun-kissed skin. It has the semblance of the sun, fields of sunflowers, a positive attitude and happiness, and the feel of summer. It’s a color that I love to wear when I want to stand out. When I first saw this marigold dress with pink and blue florals, I knew it was the perfect dress for summer. It’s as if you are a cheerful garden.

This marigold floral dress is easy to throw on for a night out or to an event. It’s not form fitting at all so I suggest going down a size. It has a subtle ruffle on the blouson sleeves, adding an extra detail to this already pretty garment. It’s a dress you will be reaching for time and time again this season when you want to feel cheerful and when you want to stand out.

Over the weekend I attended my first ever polo match! It has been on my bucket list, vision board, wishlist for many years and finally it came true! This was the 11th year of the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and I couldn’t of have dreamed of a more perfect event for my first match. I loved every second of it, even the parts when my feet were killing me and I wanted to jump in the river because it was so hot. I couldn’t stop smiling I was so happy to be there and had the best time!
