Here in New York we haven’t seen in the sun in many months. Today the sun is finally out and it is 80 degrees! I am about to take a long afternoon break, head to the park and lay out. For someone who does not live near a beach I sure went a little crazy this season with buying new swimsuits. I gravitate towards high waist bottom two-piece bikinis. I find them to be chic and retro. Anyway,  I usually only buy one but there were so many cute options out there, I couldn’t decided. So far I have this, this (my favorite!), and this one. Evidently they are all from J.Crew. I do need to branch out a little but J.Crew makes such cute swimsuits! I do adore Mara Hoffman, Lisa Marie Fernandez, and Solid and Striped swimwear as well. Here are some of my current favorites!

Every time I wear this dress I think of the Tom Petty song “Wildflowers”. Not only because of the pretty wildflower print, but of it’s easy feel. It’s not restricted, only cinched at the waist by a tie. The skirt was made for twirling, living the carefree summer life. A life among the wildflowers.

A dress, like this one from Kate Spade New York, is easy to throw on and you can wear it anywhere. Here I paired it with sandals but I would also pair it with my Keds or flats for a more casual look. Wearing floral dresses is a quintessential summer outfit. Right now I have a thing for such dresses that makes me feel the endless, carefree days of the warm, sunny season. Like anything is possible, life is full of love and pretty things. That is how I feel in the summertime.

silk bandana

Many trends come and go throughout the decades. It seems now the top trends are inspired by the past. Whether it’s the small Matrix looking sunglasses from the 90’s or fanny packs from the 80’s, one thing is for sure, what was old is now new again. One trend that I have seen pop up lately is the neck scarf, also known as a bandana. Pulling from the 50’s and 60’s silk neck scarves are the chicest thing to wear. And it does not always have to go around your neck. You can tie it to your handbag for an extra flare, around your wrist as a cool accessory, or in your hair for a playful look. The best part about neck scarves is that you can wear it with anything already your closet. It can simply change up a look making it more classic or edgy, casual or dressed up. Personally I like the flora print rather than the classic paisley. Feels very Grace Kelly! There are so many beautiful prints out now and just in time for our spring and summer look! Neck scares are a fun, simple accessory to have!

floral jumpsuit // sandals (similar) // circle bag

Do you believe in love at first sight? Well I do. When it comes to clothes and relationships, if it makes my heart skip a beat I am in love. This floral jumpsuit from Rebecca Taylor made my heart jump, flip, catch on fire, stop, and skip a beat upon seeing it for the first time.. I am not the biggest fan of jumpsuits but this one with it’s floral print and ruffle sleeves was made to be mine.
