In UA, where I am from, the 4th of July celebration starts early in the morning for a parade. The festivities continue throughout the day until late in the evening when the town gather’s at the park for fireworks. Tennis attire has been around for ages, it’s nothing new to the sport itself and to the fashion world. But now there is a new term coined for the aesthetic, tenniscore. Just like cottagecore that is so wildly popular on social media. According to Instagram data, the term tenniscore has doubled in searches over the past few months. Whether you play or not, it’s trendy to wear tennis attire while you run around town. Some attire can be functional, while others take on more of an athleisure feel to it. You can also go a step above with tennis accessories like socks and a water bottle. Perhaps place these cute embroidered cocktail napkins out for your US Open party. This past Monday I had a bunch of errands to run, one of them being a stop at J.Crew to return an item. I had bought this pink dress in both a size small and xs. I had to return the small. Anyway, the second I stepped into the store I almost fell over at the display of new arrivals they had. I know J.Crew has had it’s share of errors over the past few years and have been trying to revamp, but I have to say the summer collection is amazing! I absolutely love the two floral prints that are currently in the new collection– this blue floral print and this annelise floral print. As mentioned I already have the cottage dress in pink, but I can not stop thinking about the dress in this print. I may have to have both! I am also eyeing this dress-– if J.Crew put a floral print on it, I may die of happiness. But besides my love for the two floral prints, I think the rest of the collection is amazing! From new one-piece swimsuits to ballet flats to rompers, the entire collection is perfect for summer. (more…)
