As a kid, when I would shop with my mom, she always told me to go for the classic pieces. The pieces you can wear for years to come. Ones that never goes out of style. Always opt for the classics instead of trends, because a trend you will get tired of wearing. And who knows how long this said trend will last. The other day right as I was about to throw on my new light weight jacket from J.Crew, I noticed an unusual tag. A tag that I have never seen before from the beloved company. In green colors it said “Re-Imagined J.Crew”. I immediately knew what this meant– J.Crew was finally taking a sustainable approach. I went on their website to check out more of this new strategy. From 100% organically sourced to recycle material, they are producing fabrics that are better for the planet.  By 2025 all of their products will be sustainable. Their wool will be machine washable. The cotton will be certified organic. The silks will have a safe dye. Other fabrics will come from responsible sources. This is a great step in the right direction and I am so proud of J.Crew to doing it! Here are a few items from their sustainable collection. I already have this white top, this other white top, this dress, this beach coverup, and this lightweight jacket. Oh and I have my eye on this white dress— on sale!

An Instagram worthy aesthetic that will make you feel as if you are dining in a greenhouse. One of my favorite charming outdoor dinning areas is Lola Taverna. They did a beautiful job creating a whimsical dinning experience with florals, palm plants, vines, and birch sticks. (more…)
