For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part….. I keep finding myself in a workout class. Since Bandier closed Studio B to reopen a new location, I have been substituting my Studio B days with classes that I have either not attended in a while or a class I have been wanting to try. I find that my workout weekly routine consist of one yoga class, two dance cardio classes, one sculpting, one running, and one heavy weight class. I may switch out either running or the second dance cardio class with pilates or boxing. But that is my usually routine. I haven’t been trying that many new classes lately, instead been fine-tuning my weekly schedule to workouts I know and love. Here are some of my favorite classes to attend in New York.

5 Tips On How To Stay Active While On Vacation
adidas tank c/o // adidas running shoes c/o
Summer is the time for travel, exploring new places and revisiting old favorites. Although we are more out and about during the sunshine season, we don’t always stay as active while we are on vacation. Or even think about being active while we are trying to relax, but just because we are on vacation does not mean exercise is out of the question. While on vacation I have always been one that wants to do activities and explore. It’s a way to get moving if there isn’t a gym hotel or fitness class to attend, because lets face it who wants to go to a fitness class when you can hang by the pool.
Top 10: Activewear
I’ve been moving and grooving a lot lately! Since Studio B is currently relocating (please open soon!), I have been trying new workouts and heading back to some old favorites. Over the weekend during Popsugar Playground convention I took a class from Kayla Itsines. You may recognize her as the creator of BBG guides that everyone on the internet is doing. Anyway, I have been dying to take a class from her when she is in town and finally I was able to! Her class was all plyometrics since we did not have equipment to use. After 45 minutes I was definitely sweating up a storm. Also this week I FINALLY tried 305 Fitness! It’s been on my radar for so long. 305 is a dance cardio workout but feels more like you are at the club. There is a DJ who plays great clubbing music, the lights continuously change, and the energy is high! The movement is not really choreographed but is. You are not doing a dance per say but you do choreographed movements. I’ll take any opportunity to shake my hips and have fun! I loved it! Another class I have been frequenting is DanceBody. Choreographed dances with sculpting. I enjoy this class a lot!
Lately I have been going easy on lifting weights. My left shoulder is inflamed again and I am trying to not push it. It’s very frustrating because I know I can technically lift a weight over my head but I am doing the movements without a weight to protect my shoulder. Better to not lift a weight then to tear something. I’ve been looking into trying acupuncture and I want to do cryotherapy where they spot treat an area on your body. I haven’t really had the time to do schedule an appointment. If next week isn’t as crazy as this week I will try to go. We will see!
Since I am not really lifting weights I have been doing a lot more cardio workouts, which includes running outside and doing dance cardio classes. Of course this gives me an excuse to go shopping for new activewear. I need new tank tops as some of mine have seen better days. I would like another pair of leggings and a few new sports bras. Can never have too many activewear items! Here are a few on my current wishlist.
Starting The Keto Diet
Yesterday marked day one of being on the Keto diet. I have been hearing a lot about the Keto diet and have had a few friends who were on it for a while. Usually I do not buy into diet fads as I think the word diet means something temporary and not a lifestyle, which is what people need in order to stay healthy. I was also not interested when I heard you can’t have a lot of fruit and nightshade vegetables. So what changed my mind? Well I need to reset my life and detox my body.
