“It’s your life. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty for living it your way.”

Happy Friday! This past week has been all about self care. I have been having some health issues that are still to be determined. I started to notice some symptoms last week and have been to see a few doctors this past week. I have to go back in a week for more testing. I am trying to stay in good spirits but I am a little scared not knowing what is going on. I have been resting and relaxing (trying to keep my stress and anxiety levels lows and getting my energy levels back up), eating healthy foods, drinking lots of water and probiotics. This could end up being nothing serious but something is going on.

Now that Wimbledon has come and go and the US Open is just around the corner, I have tennis fever. Last year, after a 25 year hiatus, I took lessons at Midtown Tennis. I was a little rusty at first getting back into the game but now I am confident that I am the next Serena Williams.

Now that I am practically a pro I have been shopping for tennis attire– can’t be a professional without looking cute and on trend. The item I am most coveting is a tennis dress. Comfortable to throw on and easy to move in. I can wear it when I am on the court and when I am off the court running errands pretending I just came from a match. Although this summer my skills have not been put to great use, I am hoping to take lessons again this fall. Until then, shopping for tennis attire will have to satisfy my fever.

Last week I attended two events hosted by my favorite podcast, Almost30. Hosted by Krista Williams and Lindsey Simick, this LA based lifestyle podcast is about self care, career, relationships, health, fitness, and more. Really do not let the title of the podcast fool you into thinking only women (or men) who are almost 30 years old can listen. It truly is for anyone at any age. I personally have learned so much from listening to them every Tuesday and Thursday that I have taken my health and the way I view life in a whole new way and to the next level. It really has changed me. If you are not listening to Krista and Lindsey you must! I think you will fall in love with them (they are so funny) like everyone else who has come across their little corner of the podcast world.

This is the time of the summer where you want to just throw on a casual dress and go. Something you can be comfortable in, throw your hair in a top knot, and call it a day. It’s the time of the year where it’s too humid and hot to really care. You need to wear something flowy and comfortable. Something that will keep you cool while you run around town sweating glistening. Something the weather will only deem as acceptable to wear. Throw on casual dresses have been my go-to lately from weekday running errands to weekend brunches with friends. When I worked a 9-5 I would wear a casual dress to work then change into my work clothes, that way my work clothes were not sticky and gross. A t-shirt dress is simple to throw on, while a mid-length dress is perfect to keep you cool on the weekend. I currently have this dress that I wear when it gets too hot but I still want to look cute, and I have my eye on this one in all colors. When the fall season comes, this and this dress is perfect to throw on. But we are still in the sunshine season so this dress will, of course, be your go-to.  Summer casual dresses are truly a must in all of our wardrobes. I’ve gathered some of my favorite ones that are all under $100.
