“Start over, my darling. Be brave enough to find the life you want and courageous enough to chase it. Then start over and love yourself the way you were always meant to.”

Happy Friday!! This week went by so fast, unlike last week when I thought it would never end. Not much happened this past week but I felt as if I didn’t have enough time in the day to accomplish everything I wanted to do. I still need to get shelves for my room (why am I putting this off I don’t know), and I didn’t do any of my graphic design online class.I’ll get to it soon enough! I did have time this morning to go the H&M flagship store on 5th to see the Met Gala dresses that are on display. A friend of mine created the exhibit so I went to support her, plus I wanted to see the dresses. H&M created Lili Reinhart and Olivia Munn’s just to name a few. (more…)

Happy Friday and Happy Kentucky Derby/ Cinco de Mayo weekend! I am much more of a Kentucky Derby kind of gal. It’s one of my favorite days of the year. I love horses, dressing up in Lilly, and wearing big hats! For the past few years I have celebrated the Derby at The Union League Club. This year, however, I will be watching the Derby while celebrating Cinco de Mayo at a party. Maybe I’ll wear my Derby dress for the first half of the party then switch to a more Cinco de Mayo appropriate attire. Act two.
If there is anyone on this earth that deserves to be celebrated it is our mothers. I am amazed sometimes how selfless and amazing my mother is. She would drop anything to help another in need, especially family members. The best part about her though is that I can talk to her about anything and she doesn’t judge me. When I get excited over fashion, nutrition, or woo-woo meditation stuff, even if she doesn’t agree or understand it, she listens to me. When I became gluten free she started looking up recipes for me. When I started this blog she was my number one cheerleader/photographer/momager. My mother is my best friend. I do not know what I would do without her. Since I live in New York and she lives in Ohio I do not see her often, but we do talk on the phone every day. It is usually my favorite part of the day. Unfortunately I will not be traveling home for Mother’s Day as I will be going home a few weeks after for a wedding.
Celebrating our mother’s only once a year is not enough. They should be celebrated everyday! This year my mother is telling me not to get her anything, a card is enough. I know this is her selfless personality coming through. I am going to ignore her wishes and still get her something. I have not narrowed down exactly what I am going to get her, but I have a few ideas in mind. Honestly she deserves the world.

Happy Friday!! Wow April has been busy– but a good kind of busy! Last weekend was jammed packed with events. Friday night I went to the Major League Baseball’s Opening Night Food Fest event. There were 30 different food venders representing each major league team. The food (what I could eat) was amazing and they had fun things to do like a pool of balls or a giant hotdog seesaw. I had the best time!
