Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!! I am so ready for a 3-day weekend! Can I get a hallelujah, can I get an amen! I am actually staying in New York this weekend and I am perfectly happy about it. The town is will be pretty quiet and my roommates will both be gone, so I will have the apartment to myself. At home spa, dance party, and Netflix it is! Really I am looking forward to relaxing. The past few weeks I have been on the go going to an event almost overnight, and this next month I will be traveling and there is more events on my calendar. It will be nice to have a much needed relaxing break. I am, however, going to the ballet this weekend to see the American Ballet Theatre’s performance of Giselle. Which is my favorite ballet!! I am pretty excited about it!
When I first sat down to write about this ruffle blue dress from Rebecca Taylor, I had a creative block. It is a beautiful, classic dress. One that deserve a novel written about it. A dress that was made for me. If I were to be designing dresses, this would be in my collection. Feminine detailing, beautiful coloring, the dress is a dream come true. But for some reason today I do not want to write about fashion or why you must buy this dress (which is currently 40% off right now!!!), instead I want to talk about real life.
Summer is the time for taking a good book (or two) with you to the beach or the pool for some much needed relaxation. From fiction or self help books, I am someone who enjoys pleasure reading. Sadly I am not a part of a book club (sigh), luckily I have all of you to share book recommendations with!
The official kick off to summer starts this weekend and I am so so so excited! I love summer; flowy dresses, sun-kissed skin, swimming in the pool, cookouts, drinking rosé on rooftops, biking around the city, picnics in the park, fire works….. I could go on. I am ready for summer to begin….. after I get a new air conditioner.
Summer is my favorite season to shop for. From ruffle dresses to seersucker prints, off the shoulder tops to sandals, there is endless amounts of options. I think 90% of my wardrobe consist of summer clothing. Anyway, summer is always filled with lots of events, parties and trips so I like to be prepared for it all. I always have a dress or two on deck that can be worn casually or in the evening. I am in need of a new swimsuit and am loving this one-piece trend. Bows and white dresses are a few of my favorite things. And one can never have enough statement earrings and pretty shoes.
What I am looking most forward to this summer are my trips. I will be going home to Columbus for a week in July, and will spend a few weekends in the Hamptons with friends. I want to add one more trip this season, hopefully to Charleston, but am open to going anywhere fun! We will see!
