This weekend was the first real taste of fall. I try to put off wearing pants as long as I possibly can, but on Saturday there was no way around it, pants were a must.  As much as I love summer, running around in dresses and feeling the sun on my skin, there is something nice about the crisp days of the fall. I love throwing on a big sweater and out I go. The weather is nice enough (still) that you do not have to worry about carrying around a coat, but you are not sweating from the heat. This is an minimalist look that is simple with an easy color palette.  It can be paired with a flats, boots, or ankle boots.

In the fall and winter seasons, one of my favorite colors to wear is camel. I find it to be pretty chic and a great way to incorporate lighter colors for the colder seasons into my wardrobe. It is a classic neutral color, one that can be worn with anything that is already in your closet. A simple skirt, turtleneck sweater, or even a blazer can be worn with many different pieces or colors and patterns. The shade camel is usually popular with coats,  blazers, or accessories, but that doesn’t always have to be the case. I am one click away from purchasing this dress. I love the stylish, sophistication of it. I could pair it with a colorful statement necklace or earrings. Camel goes great with pops of color, if wearing the shade head-to-toe seems boring to you. A camel shade sweater with a pattern skirt or colored pants is a great look for the fall. A scarf or a wrap (I want this one), with an all black attire is so chic and classic to me. My favorite way to wear camel is with a white and black combination. Always a classic look for the fall.

Two weekends ago I headed over to New York to attend New York Fashion Week! It was a short trip, but one that I will never forget! This is my second time attending fashion week–the first time was over two years ago where I basically hung out in the tent  for hours and got to go backstage. You can read more in detail about it  here.  The shows that I was invited to were held on Saturday and it was my dad’s 60th birthday, so I missed the shows and caught an early flight Sunday morning. I didn’t see any shows, but I attended a few parties on Sunday and left Monday morning. The main reason I went to New York was to attend the RewardStyle party. I have been wanting to go to this party for years–last year I was invited but couldn’t attend, so this year I wouldn’t miss it for the world and I am happy I went! More on this party later.

One of my favorite items to wear all year round is the blazer. It is a piece that is anchored in the classic style that will never be dated.  Over the years the blazer has evolved and now there is a ton of different styles from fitted, to over-sized boyfriend and cropped, from edgy to preppy, that will fit any style. It can be worn with jeans, nice slacks, or a dress. In the fall I will wear a blazer as a jacket over either a button-up or a silk tank. It is always my go-to piece when I have nothing to wear because I know it will look good. Currently I have a few that I rotate, with navy, brown, black, and white colors, but lately I have been searching for a pattern or a brighter color to add to my collection.

Are you a fan of the classic blazer? What is your go-to blazer look?
