This Saturday is the Kentucky Derby and I can’t tell you how excited I am for it! I LOVE the Derby, it is one of my favorite days of the year. I love the beautiful horses, bright dresses, big hats, and champagne. The excuse to get all dolled up, watch the most exiting two minutes of the year in a sea full of Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines–it’s a preppy girl’s dream come true. The rule of thumb for the attire is the crazier the hat, the more simple the outfit. This and this dress is a great way to keep your attire minimal. I usually opt for a pattern dress, like this and this one, with a simple hat. Whether you are hosting a party or attending an event, make sure you wear something bright and preppy!

Take The Risk
Lately I have been on a crossroad of a few major decisions. I know that when I finally make these decisions, it will steer my life in a new course. Sometimes you just need to not think so much and go where your heart takes you. When we are brave enough to take a huge risk, no matter what the outcome is, the risk itself is really worth everything. It will either teach us something new, steer us in a new direction and on a path we are meant to be on, or it will come true. And what a wonderful thought that our dreams can come true. The risk is worth whatever setback it may bring, because that setback and that risk will one day turn into the best decision of your life. The setbacks, failures, heartbreaks will give you the energy and desire to move ahead and the drive to succeed.
10 Things To Do In The Spring
1. Have a picnic in the park: It is on my bucket list of things to do! One of the things I wish I did when I lived in New York and was taking advantage of Central Park. I’ve always wanted to have a picnic with a basket full of fruit, cheese, crackers and champagne, lay down a huge blanket and enjoy a nice spring day.
2. Buy fresh flowers: So this is always on my “do-to” list, but there is something so wonderful about having fresh flowers around during the springtime.
Wish List Monday
Raise your hand if you have been personally victimized by Lilly For Target?
By the time I got online it was all sold out! I would of have waited in line, but to be honest, I was a little afraid of it. I was right, I have heard some crazy stories of woman fighting over items. Crazy! I would congratulate everyone who was lucky enough to snatch something, but I am a sore loser so I will not…
Anyway, lets put this all behind us and focus on what can go well for us. Since it is Monday and I still have the blues from yesterday I want to start this week off with a fresh start with a little wish list. Currently I am going through a period where everything I see I want to purchase–this period is called my entire life. There is a lot that I actually do need like a new wallet, comfortable shoes to walk to and from work in, and a cute everyday dress.
