Wishing you a wonderful and happy Christmas filled with lots of love, laughter, and yummy sweets!
This year is a little different with a low-key Christmas celebration. My sister is getting married this weekend (!!!) and we are taking today to relax before things get really crazy. Normally we rush around, brunch at my parents house, presents at my grandmothers house, then dinner at my Aunt and Uncle’s, but this year we are doing something small at my parents house.
Each year we have a wrapping competition. There is a always a theme (this year it is “your favorite thing”) and you get only one present to decorate on. Then we all vote for our favorite! It has been a tradition of ours for many years and it’s one of my favorite parts of Christmas.
Hope you are having a joyous day so far!
Merry Christmas and lots of love,
Blush and Blooms

If you are like me then you probably want your New Years Eve night to look a little like this: a sequin dress, a bottle (or two) of champagne, and a huge dance party in your apartment by yourself. If you couldn’t tell I am not a fan of the big confetti filled night, not because of what surrounds it, but because I haven’t had the best of times when it comes to this evening (one in particular was one of the worst nights of my life), so I never look forward to it. Ok enough with being a Debbie Downer, I do love all of the confetti and glitter, the champagne filled flutes, the excitement of the countdown, the reassurance of a fresh new start, and spending the evening with friends. If you are hosting a big party to countdown to the new year or a small get together with close friends, here are some fun decor and accessory ideas to help you yell 3…2…1.
Cheers my dears! How darling are these cute cups from Martha Stewart’s American Made Sucre Shop!
Give everyone their own mini champagne bottle! Everyone will thank you that they will not have to share.
Take lots and lots of photos with these fun party picks!
I can’t say no to a party headband 🙂
Time to drink champagne! Prints always make the party a little more fun and festive!
A party really isn’t a party without garland. Hang this “Happy New Year” banner up and get the party started!

Since I have been attending a few holiday parties lately, I have noticed my high heel collection was looking a little sad. Some of my pumps are looking a little beat up. It is time to invest in a new pair and with perfect timing with the holidays finally here! I am swooning over this simple and classic heel from Club Monaco, because nothing screams “Maggie” like a bow heel!

For the past few days I have been listening, non-stop, to The Lively Show.  The voice behind the inspirational podcast is the adorable Austin, Texas based, Jess Lively. All about living with intention and purpose, Jess talks about career, relationships, self-image, fashion, and wellness. Each podcast is a different topic with a different interviewee or Lively herself. Each podcast I have been completely enthralled by. It has been really inspiring and a breath of fresh-air to know other people are going through the same struggles. Each podcast I can honestly relate to, even if the topic is about motherhood, there is still something I can connect with. They have really helped me out in certain areas of my life. Although the topics are different the meaning of each podcast is to live your life. Getting through the struggles, Lively gives advice on how to find your bliss in the ordinary. Besides her influential and always entertaining podcast, she offers one-on-one life coaching sessions. I would love to someday be a guest on her program, would be a dream, or maybe start my own series of podcast…although mine would probably start off like “I saw the dress of my dreams” or “my awkward encounters, ’tis my life.” Who knows what I would really talk about, but this is now a new goal of mine.
