If you are like me, you have spent the past week glued to your computer and iPhone checking out the latest runway shows from New York Fashion Week. What I would give to be back there again–last year I had the lucky chance to be back stage and it was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had! From the fairytale confetti thrown runway of Monique Lhuillier to going against the norm with Opening Ceremony’s performance piece (read about it here, pure genius), this year’s shows have not been a disappointment.
There is a lot of trends happening so far during NYFW; from feminine frills and soft color palettes to bold prints and edgy-sporty material looks. Green seems to be a main color popping up on every runway, as well as my favorite trend, which is already in our closets, the basic white button-up. Give a huge thank you to Carolina Herrera for this one, a look we can all pull off. Another major trend, borrowed from the boys and one that I am on board with, the short suit. A very chic and relaxed work to evening look.
It’s all in the (embellished) details again this year with lots of fringe and feathers with plunging necklines and two piece silhouettes.  As mentioned, green seems to be the hue of the season, but lots of white, orange, and blue/white combination are the seasons color of choice.
With one week down and another one to go, I am looking forward to seeing more of my favorite trends for the upcoming Spring 2015 season and will be on the lookout for a new trend to pop up. Here are some (but not all) of favorite looks from this past week!

At first I was like “eh”, but then I was like “YES!”. When the new “it bag” came out earlier this year, I have to admit I liked what I saw but was not 100% on the bandwagon….. that was until I saw them in person and fell completely in love! Like a “I can’t live without you” kind of love. Mansur Gavriel are beautiful, simple, classic, and one of this fall season’s hardest-to-get-your-hands-on bags. Each handbag is beautifully made with high quality Italian leather and finished with a bright color-coated interior. Perfection.
Founded by Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, this New York City based design duo has been crafting bags together since 2012. The two formed the brand to produce accessibly priced, minimalist appealing handbags. No excess details, just simplicity! They range from $400 to $900, which is affordable if you compare them to similar style collections such as Saint Laurent, Proenza Schouler, and Celine. For women to attain an elegant, timeless bag with high quality material, it will cost an arm and a leg, so it’s no wonder Mansur Gavriel is selling like hotcakes!
Now that I am on board, I am eyeing this stunningly beautiful large tote bag. Also loving how different the mini bucket bag is from the rest of my handbag collection. A lot of the items are backordered until December on the Mansur Gavriel website, but you can also purchase or pre-order them at Barneys, FORWARD by Elyse Walker, Editorialist, Bergdorf Goodmans, and Steven Alan. Lets all cross our fingers and say a little prayer for a faster restock! If the bag you desire is currently backordered, go ahead and click the pre-order button, because trust me, you want this bag!

Just when you thought life couldn’t get any better, then poof, one of your favorite brands is opening up a store near you. After I calm down from a happy dance, I am excited to share with you that Vineyard Vines will be opening up their second midwest store (the other in Chicago) at Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio this November.  It will be located by the Eddie Bauer store in the North District.

If you are unfamiliar with the brand, they are a preppy clothing and accessory retailer.  Originating in the North East, they market “the good life” with a great hashtag #EDSFTG (every day should feel this good). Vineyard Vines is one of my favorite brands and I am excited they are bringing it’s preppy and classic clothing to Columbus!

This past Labor Day weekend I jetted over to New York City to celebrate my sister’s bachelorette!   Prancing around the concrete jungle, we explored the best city ever from Upper East Side to Wall Street. We enjoyed a fun dinner and entertainment at Lips, viewed the gorgeous city from rooftops, sipped yummy cocktails at a speakeasy, had brunch at The Park, and shopped till we dropped in Soho. It was a great weekend full of love, laughter, and lots of champagne 🙂

Here is a little recap of the weekend.

My beautiful family–cousin and sister (bride to be) about to hit the town. Everyone wore black except my sister.

The cute set up in each room! Obsessed with this bow bottle stopper and engagement ring straws!
The girls also received monogrammed notepads and a bachelorette first aid kit–Advil and Band-Aids.
How adorable are these engagement ring cookies from Our Cupcakery! They were so delicious!
Needs no explanation 🙂
It was the perfect sunny day to enjoy some yummy bloody marys on the Central Park Boathouse patio while watching the row boats on the lake.
Shopping at the new Birchbox store was amazing! Not only is there a whole salon on the bottom floor where you can get your nails and hair done, but you can also create your own box at the store–pretty cool huh?
A great way to end the weekend with a delicious dinner at La Bottega. Definitely sit on the patio for a  beautiful view of the city sky while sitting under the lantern lights.
