Friends I need your help in a major life changing decision: I am in the market for a new pair of sneakers, non-athletic, and I can not seem to make up my mind. Those of you who know me well are probably a little shocked, confused, and maybe double checking to see if this is Blush and Blooms they are reading. I know, I never wear sneakers, like ever. I had the Converse All Star Chuck Taylor (ruined them 2 years ago) and maybe wore them 5 times a year. Now all of you are probably confused as to why I want to purchase an item that I hardly ever wear. It is a rare occasion folks but I think they are a necessity item. Now that I am living back in Ohio, I sometimes accidentally stumble upon a football tailgate and I’d like to keep my feet comfortable and not ruin my ballet flats. I am leaning a little towards the KEDS but after a “what are you, a grandma?” look from the sales lady at Nordstrom, I am not so sure. So I need your help in picking out a new pair by taking this poll!.

Take the poll and help me decide!

I am leaving today for New York City for a week for my final farewell tour, also known as finally closing my apartment and moving my stuff to Columbus. It really is a bittersweet feeling, leaving New York. It was the best thing that has ever happen to me. This was the hardest decision I have ever made.
As I look back on all of the incredible things I got to experience and the wonderful people I met, I feel overwhelmingly grateful for it all. I got to go backstage at New York Fashion Week, partied with Prince at a Gala event, joined the New York Junior League, had tea-time at The Plaza, sipped cocktails on the rooftop of the MET Museum during the Young Members Party, spent many nights watching the American Ballet Theatre perform at the MET Opera House, had glitter splattered on me from a guy dressed up like a skeleton while dancing the night away at Hotel Chantelle, worked for two of my dream companies, and so much, much, much more. The best part, however, were my friends. All so different yet all so special. I feel blessed to have met some of the most amazing, talented, successful, inspiring, kind, and funny people ever in my life. They all made me a better person.
New York changed me in the best way possible because it forced me to be me and it taught me how to love. And I have a deep love for the city and for the person I became because I lived there. It would be a dream to live there again someday, but for now I must go in another direction.
I love you New York and I always will.

If there is one thing I am most excited for this fall season, besides pumpkin flavored, well, anything, is wearing my Barbour jacket. After I first saw this classic beauty on the Upper East Side, I knew I had to have it! And thanks to a long depressing week of Hurricane Sandy, I treated myself to the best thing that has ever been mine.

Warning: Prepare yourselves for I will be living in wearing it all fall/winter long on Instagram. Safe to say I am pretty much attached to my Barbour. I love it that much!

“Barbour is a 120 year-old global brand with a distinct British attitude”, and has taken to likings of the entire Royal family. A British attitude and the Royal family? Who wouldn’t fall in love. The brand  is for the outdoor, countryside lifestyle, but has been taken over by the fashion savvy.

The Beadnell jacket that I own is a little masculine, but it is how you wear it that makes it your own. With its hunter green color and tartan interior lining, this classic jacket is my go-to for any fall outfit. I really do think this is an essential, staple piece for both women and men. I always do a double take and get a little weak in the knees when I see a guy sporting a Barbour.  It is laid-back, preppy, sporty, classic, and looks put-together all at the same time. The best part it is durable for any weather condition, a great mix of fashion and function–bring it on snowstorms! If there isn’t a Barbour store near you, you can purchase them at BloomingdalesNordstromMadewellOrvisTuckernuck, and J.Crew.
