Yesterday during my workout class the instructor wanted people to randomly, at anytime, volunteer to go up in front of the class and do 10 bar pull ups. Now this may seem a little silly to some, but for me bar pull ups are intimidating–especially to do them in front of an entire class. After the 4th person went up and completed their 10, the famous quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: “do one thing every day that scares you” popped into my head. So without a second thought I walked right up to the bar, struggled to get my feet in the ropes, and did 10 pulls ups! Now this has got me thinking, as I am turing 29 in a few days and am about to embark on the last year of my 20’s (insert crying face),  I want to start pushing myself to do more things that scare me. “Make it happen” as my new years resolution would say.

I have decided to create a list of 21 goals to accomplish. I am no stranger to writing a bucket list, I have been keeping a running list since High School. This list will be tailored to goals that can be accomplished by pushing myself to make it happen, instead of fantasy ones like buying a yacht and meeting Julie Andrews–one can dream so hush. I will start with just 21 and as I cross those off I will create another list until I turn the dirty little word of thirty. So here is my first top 21 list:

1) Run in a race

2) Go sky diving

3) Try 4 new workouts

4) Visit a new city/state

5) Take a cooking class

6) Write a book

7) Get a puppy

8) Read 20 new books

9) Do the Paleo Whole 30

10) Create a logo/illustration for my blog

11) Attend a Blogshop workshop.

12) Take tennis lessons–quitting my job sorta put a damper on this goal for this past summer.

13)  Buckle down and learn to speak French–I have a rosetta stone series but only dab in it every once in a while.

14) See a TED Talk live

15) Try paddle boarding

16) Do 10 random acts of kindness

17) Attend a blogging event

18) Join a new club

19) Find a new job/apartment

20) Collaborate with a brand for my blog

21) Purchase classic flats

Summer has flown by so fast! It seems like I have barely even tapped into my summer wardrobe and I have already christened the new season by buying this chunky sweater (currently 25% off!). Transitioning from summer into fall can be tricky. It is either too hot for sweaters or it is too cold to wear flowy summer dresses.  I usually will sport shorts and an oxford, or a skirt with a light sweater. Although I am not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, it does not mean I can’t start adding new fall items to my wardrobe.

Untitled #20

To use the wise words of one of my favorite Soul Cycle instructors: “Don’t worry everyone, it will be your birthday someday too.”

Continuing with the birthday theme of the week, I put together a fun party look that is only equipped for a birthday gal. “A sequin dress for a birthday party, really?” you maybe asking yourself or rolling your eyes at me– well it’s your party and you can wear what you want to 🙂 Whether your night is casual or jazzy, I hope you feel fabulous while celebrating the best day of the year!

By the way, how adorable is this cake topper from Etsy? And it is only $10! Sold.

Countdown to my birthday (this sunday) has begun and you can bet your bottom dollar my week will look exactly like the above photo. My plans for the best week ever will include: being pampered through mani/pedi’s and a massage, spending quality time with System Of Strength, concert in the park with friends, my birthday party in German Village, and a delicious dinner at Lindey’s with my family. The best part about birthdays are of course the presents! I am one to make a birthday list at least a month in advance…. I can’t be the only one? Anyway, here is a little preview of my 5 page wish list–just kidding it’s only one(ish).
