A little secret– I have never been much of a heels person. When it comes to deciding what shoes to wear I tend to pick ballerina flats (or a small heel/wedge). Sure when it comes to weddings, special events, and nights out when I am feeling sassy I will wear heels, but flats are much more me. There are many reasons why I favor flats over heels, but it’s mostly because I find them to be classic and chic (think Audrey Hepburn and C.Z. Guest). And flats now a days are not your mothers loafers, they are stylish. I was happy when I saw at last year’s New York fashion week where flats were the thing to wear! When I first moved to New York and got a job at a popular retail company, I convinced myself heels would make me look more fashionable and put together only to realize I barely could make it through the day. Living in the city you walk everywhere: to the subway, work, brunch with friends, central park, you name it; wearing flats ended up being a much better, happier choice. My appreciation and love for the classic flats continue to grow deeper each day. Here are some great choices that are currently on my must have list!
