An open bar, free food, a wicked dance party, pretty dresses and a room full of love–it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Wedding season! I love going to weddings with all the love and happiness that surrounds the event, and to have an excuse to get dressed up and spend the evening with friends and family. Weddings can be a little tough to dress for, black-tie does not always mean long dresses and formal casual is an understatement. When it comes to being a guest and not knowing what to wear always go for the classics. You can never go wrong with wearing lace, and since it is summer, go for a brighter color! If you are like me and have the mentality of “I have to buy a dress for every occasion”, slow down… no you don’t (repeat to myself, no you don’t). Invest in a few classic pieces and rotate them among weddings, this way you save money for travel, bachelorette parties, and new shoes!

So toast your champagne glasses to the happy couple and be the first to cut a rug on the dance floor while looking dazzling in one of these dresses!

“Always find time for the things that make you feel happy to be alive”
1) This past week I watched the History Channel 3-day documentary called The World Wars. It was really interesting and highly suggest watching it when you have the time!

With the start of the sunshine season, it is time to splash into summer with Lilly Pulitzer! I most definitely have a love affair with the iconic fashion brand and the woman behind it. Side note: you must read the biography Lilly: Palm Beach, Tropical Glamour, and the Birth of a Fashion Legend. A great insight into the story behind the fashion and Lilly herself–an admirable business woman.

Lilly Pulitzer’s clothes are an American classic. With the iconic clean-cut and vibrant shifts, it is the essential summer wear. The new line is amazing and full of the colorful signature Lilly prints. I will definitely be purchasing a few shifts to wear to all of the parties I have lined up this summer!

What I love about the fashion brand the most is that you can never be in a bad mood while wearing a Lilly– that is for sure! In the wise words of Lilly herself “anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink”.

Now that Memorial Day is over it’s time to show off your pearly whites! I do not believe in the rule white only after Memorial Day, for me white is acceptable after Easter. Heck, it’s acceptable all year round– hello winter whites! I love to wear whites and creams, especially in the summertime. I think it looks so sharp and elegant!  I own a few white dresses and they are my go-to outfits during the day in the summer. If you are uneasy with wearing white, try starting with something simple like a white bag or shoes, or wear a colorful top with white jeans.  For those of us who love to wear it, enjoy the season!
