love my new cookbooks!

1) All of these 4th of July decorations from Pottery Barn is making me very excited for the holiday!

2) Love Design Darling’s career spotlight post on interior design company Kapito Muller Interiors. Not only is it interesting to tap into the minds of interior designers (and collect some great decorating tips), but it is inspirational to read about driven, passionate women owning their own business.

3) Already thinking about how beautiful this will look with a bouquet of peonies in my new home.

4) You can never have too many shoes with bows 🙂

5) I will have to look the part while crossing off this on my bucket list.

6) A great way to look at life.

7) I am currently in the middle of reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green and highly recommend reading it before the movie comes out! It is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read.

8) If you are looking for a great at-home workout session (and nutrition plan), head over to Tone It Up! I love their quick but effective workouts, especially if I do not have time to go to the gym. Karena, Katrina and a community of women inspire and support each other to keep motivated and to stay fit and happy!

9) If you are in the New York City area please support the arts and go see one of American Ballet Theatre’s spring season performances at the Metropolitan Opera House! It is such a beautiful experience and one of my favorite things to do in New York.

10) One of the many reasons why I absolutely love Carolina Herrera, a lady who really understands what it means to be truly elegant.

Every time the weather starts to get warmer I always promise myself that I will finally cross a certain thing off my bucket list, and that is to take tennis lessons. Since 2014 is my year of “make it happen” it is only fitting to finally take lessons this summer! Besides tennis being a fun sport to play and watch, I want to learn so I can play against my dad on the weekends. My dad has been playing tennis throughout his life and have to say he is pretty good! I, of course, will need to go shopping to officially look the part 😉 Lululemon has launched their club to court line and I will most certainly peruse the store for some cute outfits!

On Saturday my mother, sister and I toured beautiful homes all over Manhattan during the New York Junior League’s House Tours! We started the day with brunch at the NYJL’s Astor House, then set off to prance around New York to view the homes along with a few  much needed champagne stops! We had so much fun touring 7 different homes and The Players Club. Two of the houses were owned by artists, so you can guess they were full of unique paintings and sculptures. It was interesting to see how different people’s taste are in decorating. One home was very feminine while another was full of culture pieces. I definitely picked up some great decorating tips and can’t wait to use it when I finally own my first home! My favorite piece (not pictured below) was a white marble round table with tiffany blue chairs. It was stunning! Most of the houses did not allow us to take pictures except for one of the artist’s homes, so I snapped a few pics of things I thought were interesting. If you are in the New York area I highly recommend going to the fall House Tours in October!
