We know it is important to set a routine both morning and night. There are many articles written that talk about the benefits of a routine and how it sets you up for a successful day and winds you down for a peaceful sleep. I am still working on my morning routine– I am guilty of hitting snooze and grabbing my phone first thing in the morning. My nighttime routine, however, is religious. I take the necessary steps to wind down before drifting off to sleep. I have never been one that can instantly fall asleep upon my head hitting the pillow. I envy those of you who can. I need to take certain steps to calm my mind and my body. Here is my 9 step nighttime routine.

Friday’s Simply Smitten
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”
-Proverbs 3:5
Happy Friday!! Things are really starting to pick back up with lots of fun events and collaborations on the horizon. Plus with NYFW just around the corner, I am busy preparing and creating content. As of now my plan for NYFW is to sorta take a break from all of the madness, only going to a few shows and no events. I love fashion week– more than most bloggers and less than others. Some bloggers are completely over it and find that it no longer serves a purpose for their blog. Others thrive on fashion week, running from show to show. For me, fashion week is still a privilege that I am very grateful for. Without blogging, I know that I would most likely never be invited. I still find the joy and love of attending, seeing models walk down the runway wearing gorgeous clothing. What I am over is killing myself to go to everything, getting upset if I am not invited to certain parties or shows, and forcing myself to go to shows that I do not care about– only to get content. I want to focus on quality not quantity this year in everything I do. And this includes NYFW.

“To receive something that you’re praying for you have to create space by letting go of the old that’s no longer serving any purpose in your life. New beginnings mean new blessings”

Happy Friday!! I am excited it is finally Friday as I have fun plans this weekend. A few of my fitness friends (women I have met through working out) and I are attending workouts together this weekend and then heading to brunch both Saturday and Sunday. We are going to AK Dance taught by our friend Lindsay Howe and Precision Run taught by our other friend Sarah Grooms. It is going to be a fun weekend filled with friends, mimosas, and some serious sweat sessions!
Resort Wear 2020
What I would give to be on a beach right now. The sun shining down on me, warming my body. The sea smelling salty and fresh. Instead, I am here, in New York, freezing. When will I learn that I need to take a vacation this time of the year? If not for the Vitamin D, at least for all of the cute resort clothes that I am swooning over. If you are about to take a trip to a sunnier place, I have rounded up some great resort wear items. I have also created a resort shop on my blog that I will be updating as time goes on. And if you are going on vacation, please bring back the sun and warm weather with you. I’d really appreciate it!
