A trend that has been slithering into our closet each fall season is the snakeskin print. Although it has been around for decades, I feel it’s become more of a staple piece rather than a trend. It’s the new leopard print as a classic, neutral look that pops. But just like the leopard print, snakeskin can range from classy to tacky as it depends on the style, fabric, color and the print itself. It’s a judgement call to make really. I have always preferred leopard over snakeskin but last year something in me sparked an interested in the wild print and have been coveting pieces ever since. This fall season I have been looking at different skirts, dresses, and boots to purchase. I finally bought these boots (haven’t arrived yet so not sure if they will work for me yet); as for a skirt I have yet to find the perfect piece for me. For a dress I am dying to get this one from Rotate . With its statement sleeve and fit and flare silhouette, I know I would live in it. If going all head to toe snakeskin is a little too much for you, try styling an outfit with a simple snakeskin purse or belt. Personally I would love to be able to pull off this snakeskin trench coat; it’s an item I believe Jackie Kennedy would wear paired with a chic all black ensemble, her famous oversized sunglasses, and Gucci mules. At least that is how I pictured myself styling the coat. However you style this exotic print, add a few snakeskin items to your wardrobe.

Friday’s Simply Smitten
“One of the attributes of love is to bring harmony and order out of chaos”
-Molly Haskell
Happy Friday!! I am currently enjoying day 3 of New York Fashion Week. I have to admit it was a good thing I was sick last weekend, giving me plenty of serene time before the chaos of this month. Even after fashion week ends I have events, meetings, and projects galore. Happy about it though- was getting a little discourage from the lack of things in the summer. Anyway, NYFW has been off to a great start and I am excited for what is to come!
What I Am Wearing to NYFW
dress // booties // circle bag c/o // sunglasses
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! New York Fashion Week is upon us and I for one am pretty excited about it. There are two types of bloggers: those that only enjoy the events surrounding NYFW and those that prefer the shows. I am one that loves going to the shows more than attending the events. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good party. It’s fun to mix and mingle with friends, network with others in the industry and experience a cool evening, but there is something to be said for watching a runway show. I can always go to an event, I can’t always go to a runway show. It’s where you see upcoming collections and gawk over the beautiful clothing you can’t touch for 6 months. This will be my 7th(?) September NYFW and each season is a pinch-me moment. NYFW officially starts for me tomorrow (Wednesday the 4th) with a showroom preview and a meeting with a brand. My first runway show is on Thursday afternoon. Although I already have a few things lined up there are still a few shows I am waiting for an invitation. Hopefully, I get into the shows!! Pray for me!
Fall Fashion Wishlist
Although I am a summer girl through and through I do appreciate the styles and trends fall has to offer. With autumn quickly approaching, brands are turning over their collection to fit the transition of the seasons. Although I am sad to say goodbye to my summer dresses, I am excited to start shopping for fall clothes.
