Searching for "full skirt"

Happy Friday!! The lazy days of summer are over and I am back to being busy. I do not mind being busy but I do need help. There are a few (amazing) changes that are happening in my life that I need an extra hand, especially during the busiest season and while I figure out my groove.  If you haven’t seen my post from any of my social media accounts– I am looking for an Intern to hire for the duration of beginning of September to mid-December. See details here. Anyway, this past week was more about spending hours on my computer than attending events. I actually enjoy these types of days when I can get as much work done as possible. I feel more accomplished and relaxed. Most of those days were spent sending out NYFW request (I am, thankfully, finished!), writing and creating blog post, searching for fashion week outfits to wear, and more. All in all it was a good week and I was in a great mood.

As we gear towards the fall we are starting to see more and more of this seasons trends in stores and on the streets. We are currently at a time when truly anything goes, wear what makes you feel like you. Even though there are certain trends that dominate the scenes, nothing feels out of style. When I started to search for what is on trend this coming season I found many different answer… almost too many; leather is coming in all different garments, we will be seeing silver and sequins a little earlier than the norms of the holiday season, fringe will be on every single item you own, oversize is the new look, and it’s the return of ruching. Although there are many trends to sport this coming fall, there are a few that I personally find to be the best and easiest to wear without looking too trendy.

NYFW

New York Fashion Week is less than a month away! Request have been sent out and invitations are starting to roll in. Now it is time to really narrow down your look. NYFW is the time when the worlds most fashionable people gathered in hopes that one of the middle age men outside of the shows takes your picture and sells it to Vogue or Fashionista. It is the time when you need to up your fashion game while you take a seat on the runaway wearing your elevated style. What I love about NYFW is that any goes. You will have girls show up in jeans and a graphic tee sitting next to a girl in a cocktail dress. You will see out- there outfits that draws everyones attention, and ones that fall under the radar with their minimalist look.

Happy Friday!! This past week wasn’t as eventful as last week but it was still filled with learning experiences and another Insta-worthy fun-house. Last Saturday I attended the Victory Cup— an all day event at Governors Island with 3 polo matches and lots of mingling. We had a great time but would say the day took a tool on everyone. We got the Governors Island around 10am while it was still raining. I am assuming because of the storm earlier that day they postponed the first match because it didn’t start until 12:30-1pm. By that time the sun had come out and it was hotter than anything. It started to become miserable, but I love polo so it was worth looking like I jumped in a pool to watch pretty horses run by me. My friends and I watched the matches from the VIP section, which I was grateful for because of the heat. Personally I don’t particularly like to be in the sun when it’s that hot and I HATE being in a huge crowd when I feel sticky, sweaty, and gross. The Golden Mallot and the General Admission sections were jammed packed and the VIP section was a little bit more breathable. Since it was so freaking hot I, and everyone else who had one, was grateful for their umbrella. I brought mine because of the rain which I ended up using to shield the sun. I felt like Downton Abbey when the women watched Cricket. We ended up leaving around 3:30/4pm at the end of the 2nd match. The entire day’s events ended at 8pm… there was no way I would of have lasted.
