Searching for "full skirt"

My family is going to laugh at this post when they read this…. truthfully as much as I hate to admit it, I am not the most organized person. As much as I try to be, I can’t seem to stay organized at home.  I leave clothes on the floor all the time, and objects and shoes all over the house. Luckily when it comes to dishes and drinks I clean up after myself– I am not that messy! I consider myself half OCD/messy. I can go to bed not caring if there is an article of clothing on the floor, but also can’t stand living in a pig pen. When I lived in New York I was a neat freak. I was constantly cleaning, organizing and reorganizing my closet, made my bed, wiped down the counters, etc. Since moving back to Columbus, I have been pretty messy–mostly it is contributed to currently living out of boxes, but still, I need to get my tush back in organized gear. So here are some helpful tips on ways to stay organized.

Are you looking for a new print? I know I am always browsing the internet for cute new illustrations to put in my apartment. Illustrating is something I wish I was able to do, but lack the talent of. I am always in awe of those that can do it. So when I find someone that is beyond talented and creates prints that are right up my alley, I have to have a few.
For a couple of months now I have been swooning over everything Evelyn Henson has posted on Instagram! Her illustrations are full of color and are adorable! I especially love her Map Series, where she illustrates well known buildings/monuments of over 50 cities— in the US as well as Europe. Besides her fabulous Map Series, she has amazing prints that are fun to put by your bar for a little wine night with friends or a print to remind you to have fun and eat more cake! Evelyn is so talented and creative, you must check out her website!

New York Fashion Week’s Ready-To-Wear Fall 2015 is coming to an end. I, for one, am not disappointment in what I saw. High slits and turtlenecks to fur stoles and graphic tweeds, these are the biggest trends to look forward to next fall. A trend that will continue from the spring into the fall is fringe. From handbags to coats, fringe was all over the runways. Fur was also an added detail that was everywhere. Belted fur stoles over a silk silhouette was a very chic way  (and my favorite) to style it. A look I want to recreate and hope to pull off!

I have been glued to my computer screen watching my favorite designers’ shows live, drooling over the pictures, and itching for any information on trends and styles. I wanted to round up a few of my favorites–ok maybe not a few… sorry I couldn’t keep this post short, it was all way too good! There are still so many great designers and looks that I left off, but knew I would be creating this for another month if I did not stop! Clothes really just get my blood boiling and my heart racing 🙂

Banana Republic
This was Banana Republic’s Fashion Week debut. I have to say, they nailed it! Those yellow heels and fur scarves have my name written all over them. Pre-order is a must! I love the color palette of colbolt blues, hunter greens, and burgundies. The collection has the normal in-store, excessible pieces we all know and love. So what you see you can get!
Tibi
Tibi has me falling in love with their clothes more and more everyday. My look is definitely more structured than these ensembles, but the feminine colors and simplicity of their comfy looking designs has me wanting to walk around in those lavender trousers. That cream and beige dress is perfect for a summer to fall transition piece. All in all, Tibi has some great, easy to wear looks that I can’t wait to get my hands on.
Altuzarra
Altuzarra had me at fur-collared coats, dreamy! The diversity of light pastels to dark browns, and feminine skirts to plaid trousers, all a bold yet polished look.
Jason Wu
Jason Wu’s line is fall perfection! This is what my dream fall wardrobe would look like; belted fur stoles, monochromatic looks of deep-rich navy and hunter green. It is modern yet sophisticated. I love how every look was cinched at the waist, accentuating it with a belt to give the loose silk shirts or baggy ankle length trousers a more structured look.
Cushnie et Ochs
This collection was seductive. Lots of plunging necklines, high waisted trousers, and see through mesh. The mesh is a nice masculine touch to a feminine silhouette. It is a power and sexy statement. I am pretty much in love with the lavender dress. Where I will wear it does not matter, what matters is that it becomes mine.
Parabal Gurung
Sparkle, creams, and mountain-chic was what you saw at the Parabal Gurung show. The beaded floor length gown and the sequined black and white cocktail dress were the best of the collection.
Victoria Beckham
Comfy-chic comes to my mind when I saw Victoria Beckham’s fall line. From the ankle boots to the bell sleeves, each was a look I would wear.
Carolina Herrara
Fashion Week would not be complete without a few favorites from Carolina Herrera. She is by far my favorite designer. Her clothes exude elegance and femininity. The inspiration behind this collection was water, as you can see with the soft blues and patterns in a splash-like manner.  Only CH could make a liquid substance seem so beautifully elegant. How well the pattern of the black coat matches the dress is perfection.
J.Crew
I live, breath, and die J.Crew, so choosing only one piece was impossible. This fall collection is God’s gift to us! So good!  All were the classic J.Crew pieces that we fell in love with years ago. I love the color palette of pale pinks, yellows, creams, purples, navy, and burgundies. The mixed patterns, sequin dresses, high waisted trousers, yellow fur stoles, and bow skirts are pieces that will quickly fly off the shelves. I haven’t been this excited about J.Crew’s fall collection in a while! And can we please talk about that nautical striped fur shirt– perfect! This will all be mine in the fall!
Oscar de la Renta
Picking your favorite Oscar de la Renta look is like choosing which child you love the most. It can’t be done. As one of my favorite designers, I would wear every single piece in the new collection. All looks were sophisticated and feminine. Lots of silks, graphic tweeds, furs, and bold floral prints. The silk magenta dress beautifully stands out against the brown fur coat. I would wear that wool embellished sweater every single day of fall and winter if I could. And the last silhouette with a mix of floral, tweed, and fur is stunning!
Naeem Khan
That feather sequin dress……. oh my god I am in love! Enough said. The details of this collection is impeccable.
Lela Rose
Lela Rose is quickly becoming one of my favorite designers. The gorgeous mixed embellishments of fringe, beads, and feathers showed up on all of her silhouettes. Evening wear just became a little more fun, a little more modern, and a little more flirty.
