I am back from spending a few incredible days in New York for Fashion Week! It was beyond anything I even imagined it to be, and I am so excited to tell you about it soon! Spending the past week talking about Spring ’16 looks, it is definitely hard to get my mind back in focus for this upcoming season–especially when it still feels like summer outside. I have given a women’s “must have” fall items in this past post here, so now it is time to tell the gentlemen what items are a must for them.
My favorite thing about the fall is being able to wear my Barbour jacket again. Relationship goals: date someone who has the same Barbour jacket as me so we can look like twins! I am obsessed with Barbour weather, as I like to call it, when all the men run around the city in their best Barbour jacket. For men, the classic Bedale is a timeless item that every guy should own. When the weather starts to get colder, switch up your look with this quilted jacket. The Barbour jacket is perfect for fall. Not only does it have an outdoorsy-preppy look to it, it is light enough for the fall, as well as being heavy enough to keep you warm.
Fall is all about layering and a cardigan is a great way to add more detail to your outfit. I am a sucker for a guy in a cardigan. When done right, it is a clean-cut, elegant look. Don’t be afraid to go all Mr. Rogers with the cardigan. This classic collar-cable knit is a great look for those crisp fall days. If cardigans are just not your thing, you can never go wrong with a cable-cotton sweater or crew neck sweater.
Add a little color to your fall wardrobe. These chino pants not only gives you a colorful element, it also fits perfectly. Nothing irritates me more than ill-fitted pants on guys. A tailor should be your best friend. These chinos are a slim-fit that is fitted from the thighs/hips through the ankles that actually have room for you to move in. Another way to add color to your outfit is through casual button-down shirts. This button-down is actually made for summer, but the colors work well for fall with it being heavier with the red. This shirt has more a fall feel to it with darker colors. It is your typical plaid shirt, but I love the detailing of the thin white lining running through it, making the shirt look brighter than it actually is.
For fall accessories, a light grey scarf, a pair of boots, a watch, and a new pair of sunglasses is all you need to look stylish.
