Fashion week has sadly come and gone. It was a wonderful week full of fashion, parties, meeting new people, seeing old friends, and exploring the city I love so much. It has always been a dream of mine to attend New York Fashion Week. I have attended parties and events here and there throughout the years, but never a full week of runway shows, presentations, etc. I can honestly say I caught the fashion week bug and can not wait until February– I even hope to attend Paris Fashion Week someday! What can I say? I am obsessed!
The second I got off of the plane and checked into my hotel I started to get ready for my first show of the week. I attended Fashion Palette: Australian at the Chelsea Piers. As I was not familiar with any of the designers, I had no idea what I was going to see coming down the runway. The show was full of gorgeous detailing of elegant evening gowns with dramatic long trains, cute lingerie pieces with floral prints, chic body -forming dresses, and casual ready to wear attire. I was pretty pleased with the show, the perfect way to kick off the week. Oh and did I mention there was a woman in the front row that had a real bunny with her? She first had the bunny in a shopping bag then mid-way through the show she put the bunny on her lap and was petting it. The guy next to me and I were loving every minute of the bunny show. So cute!
I decided to wear this black lace dress to the show since it was in the evening. While shopping for NYFW I wanted to buy things that were not only stylish and in my opinion pretty, but something that I can wear again. This dress is gorgeous! I got so many compliments on it while wearing it at the show. I love that it is hinged at the waistline and the skirt is a little fuller, and the overlay lace is so pretty!
Day 2 of Fashion Week I started out the morning trying Flex Studios. Holy moly it was hard. I am no stranger to pilates nor pilates reformer, but this was quite the workout. Luckily for me there was only 3 of us in class so I got a little more attention from the instructor than I might of have had if there was a full class. It was nice to have this intimate setting because she could teach me the proper way to work the machine and how to hold my body. If I lived in NYC I would most definitely frequent Flex Studio.
The rest of the day I spent with my friend Elizabeth (who still lives in NYC). We ate lunch at The Smith, went to the GiGi New York Pop Up Shop where I bought this purse, and had drinks in the afternoon at the Standard Hotel Rooftop overlooking the city. It was beauty! Elizabeth is one of my most favorite people in the world, we always have the BEST time together. After drinks on the rooftop we headed to South Seaport for the Tommy Hilfiger show. The show was general admission so we were hoping to get into his carnival show–there was carnival rides, games, food. Unfortunately by the time we got there it was at max capacity. Luckily there was another pier right next to the carnival and we were able to watch the entire show and Gigi Hadid herself!!

My first two days at fashion week were a little calmer than the rest of the week. I felt like I was running around and trying to experience as much as I could while I was there. I will share more of my fashion week experience in another post coming soon!
