A few weeks ago I was helping a male client style outfits for the summer. As we were discussing different attire I realized I am not as knowledgable about menswear as I would like to be. Sure I know what I think looks good and I am always a sucker for a man in a Barbour jacket, but when it comes down to the different fabrics, lingo, and fit, I am a deer in headlights. I am now “studying” mens fashion and keeping up with the trends as I do with woman’s clothing.
Since I am diving into the world of menswear, I decided to ask a few of my guy friends what they were currently eyeing at the moment. They all said a watch. To my surprise, most of them did not want what is currently trendy but rather something classic. So I decided to make a little style guide for summer full of classic pieces.
My style for menswear is on the preppier, classic side. A good pair of loafers and a pocket square are accessories they will have for years to come. This sweatshirt I personally want for myself, as I love the vintage 60’s IVY League feel of it. I love this take on the classic nautical striped sweater.
For more menswear looks I have a style board on Pinterest here.
