The 4th of July is this weekend which means lots and lots of picnics and parties will be held! And where there is a party there is food! Having sweet treats is always a good idea when hosting a picnic for a special occasions. For me, one of my favorite sweet treats is chocolate covered strawberries. They are easy to make and yummy to eat. With only a few steps, you can have this at any party for little cost and little effort.

Ingredients
1-2 containers of strawberries
1 bag of dark chocolate chips
1 bag of white chocolate
Melting the chocolate
Pour the bag of dark chocolate chips into a double boiler. Use hot water, not boiling water. Heat until chocolate is completely melted. Stir until smooth.
If you choose to melt the chocolate in the microwave, heat in a microwave-safe bowl for about 1 minute, stir and check to see if it is smooth enough, then heat for about 20 seconds.
How to dip the strawberries
Grasp the stems of the strawberry and dip into the chocolate and swirl the strawberry around to fully get it covered or covered to your liking. Withdraw it from the chocolate and let the excess drip off. Place the strawberry onto a cookie sheet. To decorate the strawberry,  take the melted white chocolate  (same process as the dark) and either using a spoon or a fork,  drizzle the chocolate onto the strawberry.
Wait to dry
Place the cookie sheet full of finished strawberries into the refrigerator or place aside for about 30mins. Then place the completely dry strawberries onto a serving platter.
Simple and easy recipe that looks professional and pretty, yet so easy to make!
