Yesterday I was feeling a little under the weather. I spent half of the day curled up in bed reading my newest book……ok I binge-watched Gossip Girl on Netflix, but I did at least attempt to read my book. It was an effort with good intentions that was overridden by the call of NYC and Blair Waldorf. Anyway, if I were able to actual concentrate (I did try!), then I would have finished my book (so good!) and would be on to the next on my list. I love curling up on the couch or my bed, reading a good book, and escaping into a story. Here’s what is currently next on my list of books to read…….. after I finish watching Netflix.
Why Not Me? / Mindy talks about finding contentment in her life through her career, relationships, and personal growth. Besides knowing how hilarious Mindy is, what draws me to this book is the title alone. The statement “why not me?” is powerful. It is believing in yourself and knowing you deserve whatever it is that you worked hard for. I feel this book will empower everyone to keep going on their journey of fulfillment, no matter where they are currently.
Go Set A Watchman/ I love To Kill A Mockingbird, so I am very curious to read this. The story picks back up 20 years later when Scout returns home to the small town in Alabama and deals with issues that are both personal and political. There has been a lot of controversy with this book with how the beloved characters are now shown years laters. I am curious as to how exactly the characters are now portrayed, how their lives have changed, and where they will be when it’s all over.
Beautiful Ruins/ A love affair that starts on the Italian coast in the 60’s, only to be rekindled 50 years later in Hollywood. Italy, Hollywood, a love story, a tale of two souls finding each other years later…. sold! What an adventure this will be!
Maybe In Another Life/ at the age of 29 Hannah is feeling lost, not sure where her life is heading, when one night she runs into an old flame. This story follows two paths Hannah can take, one with her old flame Ethan or one without him. This story questions love and fate. I believe this is one that you will not be able to put down and will never want to end!
What book are you currently reading? Do you have any recommendations to add to my list?
I have been wanting to read the Mindy Kaling book for a while now, I absolutely love her! I will have to check out these other books as well, they all sound really good! If you haven’t already read “Tales from the Back Row” I highly recommend it!
