Last week my mom and I decided to have a girls day and treated ourselves to a blow out. My mom and I both have the same fine texture of hair (although mine is naturally wavy), and both keep it sleek, straight with hardly any volume. For the past few months we have been talking about playing around with different styles but neither of us have the hair curling talent. After the 100th conversation about curling our hair, we decided to have a pampering day and get our hair professionally done! We spent the morning at The Blowout Bar in Grandview, and had a lot of fun with our new blowouts.
I have gone to different blowout bars before where I had my hair curled each time, and honestly, I never liked it. I always ended up putting my hair in a bun within an hour of leaving. This time I decided to try something different and I got the cosmo–straight with a little volume. I thought it would be a good choice since it would mean my hair would stay straight but have a little volume–but not too much volume.
This was my mom’s first time at a blowout bar and she did not know what she was getting herself into! She decided to have her hair curled– the flirtini with loose curls, and had the girl teach her how to do it.
The Blowout Bar is such a cute place! The layout looks exactly like a bar, as if I was saddled up on a stool sipping French 75’s. Anyway, the first thing we did was get shampooed and conditioned. Always so relaxing to have done. Then we headed over to our seats and watched Pretty in Pink while the women worked wonders on our hair.
Our hair turned out great and we enjoyed spending the rest of the day with our new blowouts!
