This year Pantone, for the first time, named Serenity and Rose Quartz as the colors of the year. Serenity is a light baby blue, and Rose Quartz is more of a blush/pink color. I am happy with the colors of the year as I love wearing blush and light blue and already have plenty of each color in my closet.
One of my favorite parts about blogging (besides meeting new people, and you meet A LOT of people as a blogger!) is how each blogger has their own style, and seeing how they style certain pieces differently than I would. Since rose quartz is one of the colors of the year, I have teamed up with Katie from OUT + OUTFIT to show you different ways you can incorporate the rose quartz into your wardrobe. I met Katie through the blogosphere, and as a fellow Ohioan and similar taste in clothing, we thought it would be fun to team up to show more than one way to style a certain item—or in this case, a certain color. I love how Katie put the bold red blazer with the faux fur over the light rose quartz blouse! The blazer really is a great pop of color and such an eye catcher!

I have been wanting to wear lighter colors lately. I am not divorcing black, but my Winter wardrobe is looking pretty moody. Having rose quartz as the color of the year has been a great excuse to wear lighter colors in the winter. In the photos I am wearing rose quartz from head to toe. The entire outfit together looks more appropriate for the Spring, but each piece can be worn separately in the winter. I stumbled across this blouse a few weeks ago and fell in love with it. Not only is it feminine, and the color of the year, it has a cute tie around the collar. The tie collar (wear it in a bow or leave it untied), I thought was a great detail to a standard blouse. I wore it with white pants, but it can be worn with my moody black pants, or even a skirt. Rose quartz really is a versatile, neutral, color and can be worn with anything!
