J.Crew is ready to party……………..

Last November J.Crew said goodbye to their beloved bridal collection. It is an end of an era. An era when J.Crew bridesmaid dresses were everyones go to choice, and wedding dresses were affordable beauties. J.Crew really started the trend of wearing the same color of bridesmaid dresses but in different styles. Allowing women to pick a dress that is most flattering to their figure.

The bridal collection is truly going to be missed. Some people to this day are surprised J.Crew even had a wedding collection. It started around 12 years ago when it was only online. Then about 10 years ago they decided to open up the first bridal boutique on Madison Avenue in the Upper East Side. After the success of Madison Avenue, J.Crew opened up around 8 more boutiques in select cities. It was an experience were you worked one on one with a bridal specialist in a beautifully decorated space. So although it was J.Crew and the dresses were affordable, you still got the bridal special treatment. Now all the bridal boutiques, including online, is gone. So sad!

Now that wedding is no longer a part of J.Crew, a few more collections have been added to their growing brand. The first is their activewear line (read about it here), and now the ready to party dress collection. A mix between formal and casual, the new party dress line stays true to the brand’s aesthetics. From gingham to seersucker prints, to eyelet details and tulle skirts, the new collection tailors to all types of occasions. I have my eye on this dress in soft blossom— so pretty!

Although it is sad to see bridal end, I am excited for this new part dress line and for what may come with it.
