Over the weekend my roommate and I were discussing our lack of spring jackets. A nice jacket to throw on that isn’t so business like or casual. Last week we talked about the classic trench coat (see post here). It is the perfect spring coat, but is it really what you want to wear to run around town in on the weekends? Sometimes you just need a light coat that isn’t so classic and formal. Sure I have my Barbour jacket that I worship and wear all of the time, but I want something more, something fun, something brighter.

As I searched and searched I stumbled upon this striped trench coat. I thought it would be fun to wear! Casual yet dressed up. Easy to throw on. Elevates every outfit. And stripes is the ultimate classic, preppy print. I was in love.

This jacket is perfect to wear during the spring and summer weekends while running errands or meeting your girlfriends for brunch. It would look cute with jeans, shorts, a dress, really anything. When I wear it, it brightens up an outfit making it feel more like spring. Shred those dark colors off. Sometimes you just have to step outside the neutral zone and take a risk— and nothing says risky like timeless stripes.
