Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!! I am so ready for a 3-day weekend! Can I get a hallelujah, can I get an amen! I am actually staying in New York this weekend and I am perfectly happy about it. The town is will be pretty quiet and my roommates will both be gone, so I will have the apartment to myself. At home spa, dance party, and Netflix it is! Really I am looking forward to relaxing. The past few weeks I have been on the go going to an event almost overnight, and this next month I will be traveling and there is more events on my calendar. It will be nice to have a much needed relaxing break. I am, however, going to the ballet this weekend to see the American Ballet Theatre’s performance of Giselle. Which is my favorite ballet!! I am pretty excited about it!
Speaking of breaks, since I am having a relaxing weekend I have decided to do a mini cleanse. I am cutting out alcohol, sugar, and diary. I have notice I have been breaking out lately and I am sure it has to do with my champagne diet I have been on. It’s time for some gut healing.
This past Tuesday night I attended a panel with Sam at Hotel Americano. The topic was Fashion Meets Art— discussing collaborations between artist and brands. It was very interesting to hear from designers about their experiences working with artists. Truthfully I wasn’t aware some of the collections that I know and love from some of my favorite brands were created by artists. Pretty cool! I appreciate art but by no means am I an intellect when it comes to who’s who of the art world. I only knew of one artist they were talking about, Jeff Koons, and I only know of him because he created the new art installation at Rockefeller Center called Seated Ballerina. I attended the unveiling of the installation at SAKS a few weeks ago. Anyway, it was a nice evening and interesting to learn more about art and fashion.
I hope you have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day Weekend!! XO
