What to wear to New York fashion week and how to dress fashionable for NYFW

New York Fashion Week is just around the corner! This will be my 3rd fashion week and it truly is still a pinch me experience! I can’t believe how fast the year has flown by. It feels like yesterday I was visiting NYC for fashion week; chit chatting with friends on a rooftop in Tribeca overlooking the Freedom Tower, about how I want to move back. So much has happened in a year and I am truly grateful to live in the city that knows fashion.

Figuring out what to wear to NYFW is probably the hardest decision to make. Are you over dressed? Underdress? Not fashionable enough? Do I look like I belong? You are surrounded by the most fashionably chic people in the entire world, it is hard to not play the comparison game. But here is a little secret…. anything goes during fashion week. I have seen people wear jeans, tennis shoes, workout gear to cocktail dresses and overly priced shoes. And then you will have people who will wear something so outrageous. The people watching it by far the best during this wonderful week.

If you are attending fashion week wear what represents you, not what you think you should wear. During fashion week I like to splurge a little on designer clothing, but also stay true to my style. I have already started shopping for outfits, putting things together, returning things that don’t fit/work. It is a process for sure. Here are some items I have on my NYFW wishlist.
